  3. megan...i say enjoy your eating while you can...its a whole new ball game after surgery...but way worth it...Go for it girl...if you really want it do whatever needs to be done. Never thought I would be on this site telling someone to put ON weight!!!hehehe becky
  4. Welcome to LBT...I concur with the others it took me at least 5 days after to walk up my driveway...and I had the gas pains for most of that time...walking a 5k is probably ambitious...but how much do you want to do it...if you push yourself you probably could. becky
  5. smacking/spanking: They are both the same to us us over here...a 'forceful' pat on the backside or a slap on the hand etc. With the new legislation we wont be able to do any of that. I hope this clarifies. The only thing we will be able to do is 'use reasonable force if the child is putting themselves in direct danger...meaning if my child is about you run accross the street with a car coming I am allowed to yank him back wit force...but I am not allowed to physically discipline him afterwards for disobedience. The new law will mean that if anyone sees me smacking/spanking my children they can report me and the children will be taken off me and I would be tried in court for child abuse. hmmm as much as I avoid smacking/spanking I still don't believe that is right. Thanks everyone for your responces. Becky
  6. Hi guys... I am a mother of two gorgeous children and although I don't smack them...much...the new zealand government wants to legislate that it is illegal for parents to smack children or discipline them in any way. What I want to know is what does everyone think of this...although I dont smack generally I don't believe that the government here should take away my RIGHT to discipline my children in a controlled loving sort of way. So do the poll and post here what you think. You can also read HERE a related news story. Becky
  7. oh that is hilarious!!! I just read it and I laughed outloud....I love that. becky
  8. Hi everyone...To start us off...I am loosing weight of about 2.2lbs a month...ok ok I am a slow looser...but its my own fault cause when I am walking I loose at a rate of 2.2lbs a week!!! Gotta get back into walking. Exercise is the key for me. What about everyone else? becky
  9. Definately...a nsv it means you have been doing your 'mind' work. which is just as important as your eating work. Well done becky
  10. This site rocks....it has pulled me through many a down moment. becky
  11. ok so tonight my eyes were too big for my stomach!!! If it wasn't bad enough that I had fish n chips well only a couple of chips really...but I had 2 huge pieces of fish....I thought it was yummy at the time but when I started getting the full signs...I ignored them didn't stop and now I am bearing the brunt of having a pouch that seems to be stretched to capacity GRRRR let this be a lesson to you all...Its not worth overeating...you just feel sick afterwards...Hopefully tomorro I will do better. Becky :faint:
  12. Christine F Wow! I think this happens to all of us...I constantly struggle with the whole mind thing...ultimately I think the mind is what it boils down too...Start asking yourself WHY you feel the need to eat. Why do you sabotage yourself...what do you fear in being thin. What is holding you back...if you can work through this you can break through the barriers... I am always here as well so PM or email if you want to chat through things. becky
  13. Bandguy... Don't fret too much aye! It does take time to get perfect restriction but you will in time...if you do need to eat...then make the RIGHT food choices You will be fine... Becky

  22. jillrn...I shared your frustration...until I went into my dr and he finally diagnosed me with Hypothyroidism which meant for me that my metabolism doesn't work full stop. I store...every single bit that I eat and I will be on medication for the rest of my life to get it too work. Probably doesn't help you...but there could be other reasons...Talk to your DR if you are really worried. becky
  23. Tom328...I used to PB almost as soon as I ate 'offensive' food...hehehe usually meat or something that doesn't break down easily...However, the good news is that I am 17months post surgery and I haven't PB in an awfully long time probably 6months or more. becky
  24. Wooohooo! X-raychic. Congratulations the best is yet to come...keep us posted now aye! becky
  25. derbygirl...probably not that encouraging but for me i tried changing my diet a tad...sometimes just changing a few things that you have been eating can make ALL the difference. I pretty much have a fill every 3 months. loosing or not...but changing my diet a tad usually helps get over the plateau...
