  1. I was sooo addicted to Diet Coke!!!! I would have at least 6 bottles a day . I have not had any since my pre-op liquids..do miss it..but so far so good.. I am not saying I have not thought about trying it. I have a few times, when I am real thrsity and want something refreshing and cold.
  2. I was banded on Feb 23 ,2009 and had my first fill April 7,2009 Doc put in 4.5cc. in a 10 cc band .I had lost 15 lbs in the 6 weeks since being branded.
  3. I just had my first fill today and doc put in 4.5 cc in a 10 cc band. I think this sounds like a big fill, what does everyone else think?
  4. I had to fly home 2 weeks post op for a family emergency..the only flight I could get on short notice was with 2 lay overs making a 3 hour flight into a 12 hour adventure!.. I had no problems with the flights just a bit sore from lifting my bags off the baggage claim turntables.. I used a backpack for a carry on instead of having to carry anything in my arms. I am left handed and was afraid of pulling stiches from the port.. When I finally arrived home I was a bit tried and a little sore but took some tylenol and rested and was fine..
  5. I am doing just fine. Feeling good and not in much pain at all, except for that annoying shoulder pain. I have my frist post op visit tomarrow and then back to work on Thursday. I am pretty much back to "normal". How are you feeling?
  6. Wildfire I will have to fly very soon due to a family emergency . Did you have any complications with the cabin pressure? Did you ask to "pre board"? I will have about a 3 hour flight each way,
  7. Hey everyone I also had my surgery on the 23rd , for what was supposed to have only been a out pt visit, turned into a overnight stay, all because of the Anesthesia gas sitting on my chest for to long. My doc wanted to run a EKG, Chest Xray and blood work to make sure that is all that was going on. I was not in a lot of pain expect for it feeling like someone was stomping on my chest all night and I also have that annoying shoulder pain still. My surgeon does state liquids for 1 week post op but by Thursday (3 days post op) I just could not even fathom doing any more liquids, I did do the pre op liquids without a hitch , but I guess my body was telling me "I need more! " so I did start the puree phase a bit early and everything seems to be going ok. In fact Friday morning ( 4 days post op) I actually showered, brushed my teeth and put on "real " clothes and my Gosh went to the Mall. Doc said I need to walk soooo what better place to go for a walk then to the mall! Since I did start the puree phase a bit early I am being very careful on what I am eating, I will tell you those 3 small "meals" actually do make a difference in the way I am feeling not only physically but also mentally. Walking and a little bit of food is actually helping all the other body parts work better .. I have my post op visit on Tuesday and then back to work on Thusday...My Wii Fit states I have only lost 1.5 lbs since the day before surgery until Thursday, while I was still on my liquids. I am excited to see what the doc scales say how much I have lost officially,, since my pre op visit. I just have a couple of little things that are bothering me.. one of them being I can not sleep though the night, not in bed, in the recliner.. nothing , that is why it is now 5 am and I am here typing . I am a left side sleeper and well I don't need to say why I can lie on that side and to long on my right side or on my back I get stiff and can not even move.. I guess that will pass in time also.
  8. Sara I am being branded by Dr Meyers on Feburary 23rd having surgery done at Rush.. I live in the South West burbs...
  9. Susie Why do you have to spend the night? I am the first one on the surgery list for the morning , and was told it should only take a hour with a hour or so of recovery then on my way home...
  10. I am starting the pre op liquid diet on Monday, My Surgeon does recommoned 2 weeks of liquids. My surgery was orginallly set for March, but there was a cancellation so it got moved to the 23rd. So for accepting the surgery on short notice I only have to do liquids for 1 week instead of 2 woo hoo!
