Hi yall, three support groups as follows: St Davids support group- 544-5433 St. David’s WLS Support Group 2009 Meeting Schedule St. David’s Medical Center Mondays, 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. the believe group at seton medical center the 2nd thursday of every month from 6-7 true results- 610-1660 - meets once a month the meeting at st davids is for anyone who wants to attend. i think true results is also- i need to call them... i plan on making these meetings once i recover from the band . i hope we can all meet up and drink some crystal light together! liz

Hi edgar felix. i am going to be banded by dr natera 2/25. i was sceptical at first, but feel much better about him now that i have spoken with his nutritionist-Irene. she tells me dr natera has done over 1000 bands, amoung other types of surgeries and "i would trust him". states he has never had a person return to the states and have a complication...i personally feel he is very qualified and the star medico hosp is a good one. are you already scheduled? I will tell you how it goes friday 27 (or probably saturday) when i get back. there is not alot of info on him on the internet like some of the docs- he has traditionally focused on mexican patients, but is a good surgeon. his nutritionist does speak pretty good english and dr natera speaks some english. I have been very nervous and see randy and princess have a smooth recovery. i know it wont be all roses, but at least I am headed toward the light with the rest of my fellow light seekers! thank you so much for your response. i have trouble picturing myself being my natural weight, i never have been. i like your name destined to be thin, i will choose a name to describe future change. the changes in my head our my biggest challenge, and how to deal with them. the band is a tool for life change, i will remember that. your weight loss is exciting-keep up the good work!

Hi Mindy, i am so glad to see someone from austin. i am to be banded 2/25 and know i will need a support group, or people to connect with. i am a meeting to support myself and others type person. please touch base with me. i am nervous and have questions/concerns, but on the other side want to be there to help others thru this exciting scary process. my doctor is not local, so i dont have that particular support. hope to hear from you and the other lady. thanks, luchay (liz- jjohnson2317@austin.rr.com)

Hi friends, Nothing like being with your people, and you are like a family I have never met but relate too. I am scheduled to be banded 2/25 and have no idea what to really expect. I see your posts and hope I do as well as most of you. I have about 11 days to go and still eating sugar. I want to start now to lean into a different diet to prepare for the liquid diet 5 days before. Still procrastinating.. Have any of you felt you would not be successful but found you are staying on course? This comes from a girl not famous for sticking to "a plan". ....One more question- what does it feel like to have the band when you first wake up out of surgery??? Hopeful in Austin-thanks for sharing!! Luchay

Hi Randy, how you doing? I am going to get my band 2/25 and i am wondering what it is like for you....also- how did you handle the 5 day liquid diet before the surgery? hope you are doing great and i will look for your reply.

Please share your experience with being banded by dr natera in juarez. I am scheduled for feb 25th at star medico hospital. thanks!
