thanks and that is a great suggestion. The most I have ever been able to dedicate is 5K, I would be very surprised if I could dedicate 20K. I have been using the flex plan for years, but with another employer. I am working for large non-profit now and their benefit year is the same as their fiscal year- July to June. So, you are quite right, July would be the time to try the 20K. I think I will just be bummed if I have to wait another year, but it just might come to that. Thanks for the idea, hopefully, it will be my plan C.
  2. I hear you and I feel the same pain, except I have about 80 pounds more than you at this point. In a bizarre way, I wonder what my life will be consumed with if not food, if not dieting, if not wondering what I can wear that fits the person on the inside, yet not too revealing or revealing. I feel that life has passed me by in so many ways as I tried inconsistently to fight this battle. What do people of normal weight, responses to guilt and anxiety do with their thought life? Do they wonder about global warming and gov't run healthcare while I am trying to figure out what to eat for dinner?

I was noticing a lot of anxiety today. Feet shaking, thinking about food alot. Not hungry mind you, just thinking about how to reduce my stress and make me feel better.:sad0: I finally ended up with sunflower seeds and that seemed to do the trick. I should hear tomorrow from one financial source if my surgery can be paid for without going to the surgery loan places. Maybe that is what this is all about. Then trying to decide if I should take off for the two weeks or wait until summer time. I am leaning more toward getting it done now- although it is seen by the medical community as elective- to me, it is not. I am patiently awaiting an answer.:biggrin0:

Today is the first day that I am going to start documenting what is going on until I find out if I can secure funding for the lap band revision to VSG. I want the results, but feel some pull not to put myself physically and financially at risk.:sad0: Not that I am not risk now, I get that.:biggrin0: I want to read what others are saying, and I want to know if I am somehow going into this as if it were magic and I will after a period of time become someone that I have never been, even at the ripe old age of 50. If not now, when?
  5. I am really new to this whole forum chat blog thing and I admit I do not know how to personal message. I can tell you generally, I am happy with his level of expertise and his knowledge base.:001_rolleyes:
  6. I meant to say cash price for the sleeve. Sorry.
  7. Hope all goes well- Dr. Merriman is the doc that placed my band and I am busy busy busy trying to collect enough financing to add up to the cash pay price. Still several thousand short right now.
  8. Hi everyone, I am a 50 year old woman with a long history of obesity. I dont think I consciously chose to overeat as a child. It just seemed to be one of the few things i could control. Until my mother caught on, and then she give me about 1/3 of the food she gave my brothers. Anger and Rage set in for lots of reasons. From then on, it has been one diet after another after another. I had the band three years ago and lost 40 pounds, a fraction of what I needed to. Then, nothing for the last 18 months no matter what I do. I actually went to a physical therapist 5 days a week who monitored- yes actually stood there and watched me do cardio and strength training. Still, no weight loss. I am trying my best to schedule a VSG, but I am trying not to be scared since my surgeon has not done this kind of revision before. I would be the first. I am doing everything need to do to make this happen, I just think the little voice is saying don't.
  9. Hi, I was wondering if anyone is to years post band surgery with very minimal results? I have over 200 pounds to lose and have only lost about 50. I will coming up to year 3 in Aug 2009. I have had all the fills as reccomended by my doctor and had them when he said it was time. I have been faithful with appointments and with doing the best I can with protein being my main dietary food. I started 5 days per week of physical therapy last October and have been faithful with that also, and it has been documented for my physician. I d one hour of cardio per day at my max heart rate and most days do some strength training (weight lifting0 I have asked my physician if she will look into my hormone leptin levels and she said that she could order the test but would not know what to do with the information. Is anyone else experiencing this??
