  1. Hi mmm, haven't been on the forum for a while but I have been reading everones comments. I was banded back in march with my sister big bones. I wouldn't worry about going with wendy at wls, she is extremely competent at giving fills. I had my first fill with her last saturday in london after having a very traumatic fill by frederick at end of june, in fact I was worried he may have damaged the band - but no all is well. All in all I would say Dr Chris and co are excellent for surgery but I prefer wls for the aftercare with the lovely wendy! I have lost 3 and a half stone up to now and I need to update my ticker, but I am very pleased with my progress and have no regrets about being 'banded'.:smile2:
  2. Hi Fatpants,

Just wondered how you are getting on, has your pain in the shoulder eased?

    Julie

  3. Hi Dublingirl, My stitches still there also. I'm going to see the nurse on Wednesday to have the blue stitch out and hopefully the others too! BTW my sister's (Bigbones) blue stitch has disappeared on its own?!
  4. Hi Dublingirl, I was also banded by Dr Chris last week, on the tuesday, I know there were 2 irish girls getting banded on the same day were you one of them? I was with my sister (Big Bones), we also met Fatpants which was great. How are you doing now Fatpants? I agree with you that Dr Chris and Frederick were great, very easy on the eye too which helps! All in all a good experience. Great to hear from all the other bandsters, very encouraging, not to mention amusing too!:crying:
  5. I'm not doing too bad, haven't weighed myself since monday and I'v lost approx 8lbs too. I think we are doing ok and I think you are too, don't be too hard on yourself! Not too long to go now and we'll be on the other side, can't weight to do it now!! Eeeek!!!

  6. Glad to hear everyone who has surgery in the last few days is recovering well and are so upbeat!:mad2: I'm being banded on the 17th along with my sister big bones and we are starting to get pretty nervous and excited now. I have a couple of questions: I know most people have 5 incisions with the biggest being the port area, where exactly is the port most commonly situated? Also I've heard that we can't have caffinated drinks once we have been banded, has anyone else heard that also?
  7. Hi Fatpants, I'm basically doing the same as you, cutting out sweets, chocolate, cake, pastry, no oil and only having low fat cheese and extra light flora. I'm also having a slimfast at lunch time to try and get used to liquids only after the op. Finding it all a bit tough as I've been used to eating such a crap diet for quite a while. You seem to be doing pretty good though, keep up the good work!!
  8. Just checking out my new signiture, hopefully it will appear. Being banded also on March 17th and now on day 4 of pre-op low-fat diet!:cursing:
  9. Hi Shoes, the package sounds good value, where are you staying? I didn't realise they did a package like that - saves alot of arranging taxis etc... I agree it being just a waiting game, it seems to drag on!!:blushing: Just can't wait to get on with it now!:cursing:
  10. Hi Fatpants, I have noticed that you are being banded on March 17 in Brussels. Both myself and my sister Big Bones are also being banded on that day by Dr Chris so it would be really nice to meet you then. Both my sister and I are really nervous, but also really excited!:tt2::tongue2:
  11. :tongue2: Hi Shoes, we booked with Bridget at Europe Surgery - she was really nice and helpful.:tt2:
  12. Hi Shoes, our surgeon is Dr Chris de Bruyne. We've heard lots of good things about him from this site. :rose: Who is your surgeon?
  13. Hi, I am also getting banded in Belgium on March 17 along with my sister Big Bones. We are also very nervous but also excited too!!:cursing:
