  1. I know the first few days I was a raving biotch because of the liquid diet. You have to suck it up and do it. It has a purpose and that purpose is to clean up your liver so it's not as fatty so it doesn't get in the way of your surgery. You've made the commitment to have this surgery, now make the commitment and stick to the liquid diet. If you are starving go get some beef broth and have that. That will help keep you full in between Protein shakes. Good luck to you!! Just a side note - your doc may not operate on you if your liver is too fatty.
  2. Wow that is crazy! 10 lbs wow. Have your measured yourself? What is your daily calorie count? Are you getting enough calories in for the amount of working out that you are doing?
  3. The band does not restrict liquids.
  4. I can cross my legs comfortably, sit in an airplane seat with the arm rests down on both sides comfortably and the big one is when i'm exercising I can do jumping jacks and jump around. I was too afraid to before.
  5. Amazing! Congrats to you!!!
  6. I just celebrated 8 months with the lapband and I love it!!!! I am so happy with my results to date.
  7. That is so mean and rude. You should've walked up to them and said Hola. Como Esta. Basically enough to get the message across that you heard his rude ass.
  8. Michelle make sure you take your Omega 3 vitamins. that is what helps your skin with its elasticity.
  9. Think about why you went to this extreme and think about what you wanna look like next bathing suit season!!! My motivations right now are: 1. My best friend is getting married and I am her MOH. 2. My sister is getting this procedure done next month and she will not pass me up!!!! Good luck getting motivated again! You can do it!!!!!
  10. I'm 5"4' so I chose 140 as my goal weight. Initially I chose 125 as my goal weight but I changed it. When I get to 140 lbs I will decide if I feel good at that weight. If not I'll change it depending upon how I feel. I got a ways to go yet so I have a long time to change my mind.
  11. Yes the same thing has happened to me. That is because you didn't get to finish eating and are still hungry.
  12. Hey Erin good luck!!! If your doctor ever figures out why you are feeling that way please keep us updated. I wonder if you are allergic to your band. Rare but it can happen. Good luck with the rest of your journey. Don't let anything get in your way of reaching your goal!!! You can do it.
  13. Hi Lisa!! Welcome! Congrats on getting approved for everything. Scheduling your surgery for Mid-November may be complicated. Especially with Thanksgiving. you are going to need a good 6 weeks of being on a strict diet. That is why I waited until after the 1st of the year. That way I could concentrate on what I needed to be doing and i didn't get distracted about all the goodies that come out around the Christmas time. Good luck with whatever you decide to do!!!
  14. Hey Lynn!!! You can do it. As you start to get your fills it does get easier to maintain your hunger. "Bandster hell" sucks but you will get through it. Just take it one day at a time and remember the band is a tool to help you lose weight, you control the rest!!! We are all worried about being failures. It's up to us not to become one. Just remember whenever you are hungry, keep fresh fruits and vegetables on hand. That way if you are going to eat, it may as well be something healthy and good for you!!! Good luck with your journey!
  15. I just got back. We went for 6 nights/7 days. Our package included 6 day park hopper passes plus the disney dining plan. If you intend on staying at a resort there the disney dining plan is a must!!!! We got 1 quick service meal per day (which I was able to share with my mom), 1 snack and 1 sit down dinner. Disney resorts have a ton of nice, expensive restaurants. We had character dining 3 nights while we were there. The best was eating at Ohannas which is located at the Polynesian Resort. We stayed at Pop Century (really how long are you in your room for) and they bussed us everywhere. There were 8 of us going (2 rooms) and we paid $533 a person. Well worth it!!! We had an awesome time.
  16. I have the most problem with rotisserie chicken. For me the dryer my meat is the better. Grilled chicken goes down perfectly. I've never had any problems with anything else as long as I slow down and chew carefully.
  17. I am 70 lbs down. I love my band. I'm loving life right now!!!! I am such a happy person it's unreal. This was the best decision that i've ever made! I walk 2-3 days a week and I do cardio 1-3 days a week as well. I love exercising. I am 103 lbs away from goal and when I get there I haven't quite decided what my reward will be.
  18. Welcome back! Focus all those feelings and use that as your motivation to lose those few pesky lbs you gained. You can do it!
  19. Pretty much everyone quits losing during this time period. 1. your body is adjusting from being on a liquid diet to going back to eating regular food. 2. you are in bandster hell which is the time period between getting banded and getting decent restriction. Don't get discourged! Just stick to a good healthy diet in the meantime you will start to lose again.
  20. Well I have a few recent NSV's to share with y'all. I went on vacation with my family and I fit on the airplane seat no problems (even with both arm rests down!!! I didn't have to ask for a seat belt extender. The seat belt fit just fine, I even had to tighten it up. I could even cross my legs!!! I also used the bathroom with no problem whatsoever!!! Most importantly I got home and downloaded my photos and didn't cringe at myself. I thought to myself wow you are looking good. you got a ways to go but you are getting there.
  21. Congrats to you! that is so awesome!!!! I'm still 100 lbs out from my goal so I'll be a while but i'm enjoying my weight loss along the way. I haven't weighed this much in over 10 years! My next goal is to weigh under 200 lbs and I have 42 lbs to go for that. I'm hoping to achieve that for my 1 year bandiversary.
  22. I am a side/stomach sleeper as well and it took me about 4 nights to be able to semi sleep on my side. I was in heaven when I was finally able to sleep on my stomach which was about 1 week out.
  23. Hi Cheryl. You can get back on track. Get back to bandster basics. eat your protein first then veggies and then if you are still hungry your carbs. Pack your lunch everyday. Lean cuisine and fruit is a good healthy lunch. Make sure you make dinner everynight. I love stirfry. it's easy to make and you have leftovers for days and it's healthy! Make sure in between you get in all your water. That's very important and also make sure to start walking. Good luck with getting back on track. You can do it! Remember you didn't go through this process to not do your part.
  24. You can't feel the band. You can only feel your port. I jokingly refer to it as my tumor. The only time I felt nauteous was after my surgery when it was time to drink a protein shake. I had a hard time making myself drink those. IDK if it was because I was sick and tired of them by that point or what.
  25. Well I came really close. I am 2 lbs away from my goal. I'm sure I will lose those lbs this week. Ahh well hopefully I can make my turkey day goal!
