Got my referral from my PCM for my lap band doctor yay!!

I met with my PCM yesterday and she gave me a referral to my number 1 pick for Lap band it made me so happy :-) my PCM was totally happy that I took the steps and did all of my research for the procedure and so she said she would be happy to refer me.. So I'm one step closer then I was even though I have a lot more steps to take but at least I'm on the right path. After my surgery I went up stairs to the Lap band doctors office (my PCM is at the hospital) and so I filled out some papers and got some paper work and I have to go through 3 months of classes and then they will try to do the whole Lap band with my insurance but I've talked to people and they said that its not that hard to get so hopefully they are right, I'm so excited right now you have no ideal... -

Tricare Prime Remote is a little different from Tricare Prime. Basically since we're not near any military posts, I get to choose my doctor. And since you're regular prime you may have to have your procedure done at womack if they do it there. But good luck and keep in touch!

I called today and set up my appointment with our pcm and the only time they could get me in to see them was on the 23rd of the month of course they had one earlier appointment for next tuesday but my husband has surgery that day in Raleigh so I couldn't take it but oh well I'm just happy that I don't have to wait a month or more to see someone, my husband said I could go in for sick call tomorrow and they would have to work me in but I just don't know if I should, I mean I'm not sick so should I do it??? but I did some research online and found a meeting for lap band for Thursday in Raleigh and since we will already be there because of my husbands doctors appointment I thought it would be good and then I can put that in my file and when they turn everything into tricare I would have a great chance of getting approved right ????

well my hubby now is a recruiter and we have tricare prime remote and it was super easy for me. I went to my pcm and told her I wanted it and she reffered me to this doctor here in ft. worth and they submitted the paperwork in tricare and I was approved within a week. I started my process back at the end of october and I get banded 2/16. It would've been sooner if they weren't so booked up. Also from what I've read from other military wifey's on here they didn't have any trouble either. Basically you have to be at least 100lbs over weight and/or your bmi has to be over 40 but even that you can get around b/c my bmi is only 37 and i'm only 89 lbs overweight. I hope that helps.

So far I'm loving it I have been here since October I'm still getting use to all the crazy drivers and that no matter what time you go out there is going to be traffic speically on skibo... if you don't mind me asking was it hard for Tricare to give you the okay on the surgery I have never been to my doctor that the army gave me and I go in 2 weeks to meet with him and I'm scared what he will say about the lap band...
