After a 2 year wait my insurance finally approves of this so my journey's started. I've got a few months to go before surgery. I've had the initial appointments, and went to my first support group meeting this week. I understand about the whole anxiety thing when our intake is limited and we don't have food as a crutch any more, but how bad is it? I was feelling better about it before the support group and, although there were lots of success stories, the tales of depression afterward, etc. worry me some. How long does it last? I feel like I won't have too hard of a time dealing w/ the change but am I kidding myself?

  3. First time to chat and brand new to the Lap Band process. Found this site b/c I'm a "professional student" and like to get all the info I can. Did a lot of that before deciding to do it ( knew the bypass was not for me ) but insurance wouldn't cover it. That was over 2 years ago and now they do so..... I'm READY!
