  1. I was banded in May of 2007 by Dr. Schmitt in Birmingham, AL. I had a port revision in June 2007. I must admit I was feeling discouraged about what to eat after being banded. Weight loss was great I just felt like I could not eat anything. I thought that I was really informed before surgery but later found out that I was not. I found out that I was having my 1st child in August 2007 so I had band deflated. My son is now 10 months old and I just had my first fill since I found out that I was expecting. I'm excited and nervous and really need some support, guidance, and education.
