  1. Mine is on its way too.....heading south to where the roses are yellow and the stars are bright. Carol
  2. Of course its in bad taste....that is a given, in every sense of the word. My goodness....the title is like a "skull and crossbone" flag wagging in our face as far as bad taste is concerned. And...as far as I'm concerned....is an obvious sign of guilt! Its like he is wanting us to see his cleverness in these murders in case we missed it the first time around. Carol
  3. Congrats on your weight loss. Have you investigated the problem with your back pain or have you assumed that it was caused by your weight? Carol
  4. Yes, like commit murder again.
  5. OMG....Nhatalie....I have never read such a black and white opinion in my life....you can't be serious. I "DITTO" everything Carlene just said. Carol
  6. I agree Tami, we had such a diversified group last year, that is one of the reasons it kept me interested until the very end. Carol
  7. LOL....had a good giggle at the cream puff....I'm going with the bob marley image. And whats with the fortune....did you ask for another cookie! Carol
  8. I'm right there with you ousooner....I have lots of sagging skin....but, I can hide it....I couldn't hide the extra 75 lbs. I wouldn't give my band up for anything.....I just may have a TT too. Carol
  9. It is common. I struggled for a few days....I was on just cottage cheese and low fat yogurt. My pre/op coordinator told me that I had done so well with losing on the pre/op diet that I could have a chicken breast and plain veg the night before surgery if I wanted........and I did! Gave me something to look forward to while eating that dreadful cottage cheese. Carol
  10. I haven't stalled however I have slowed down considerably. I'm okay with that though, I've done really well and if it takes the next 6 months to drop the last 20 then that's okay....I'll get there for sure. I think making changes is a very good idea. Even when dieting the conventional way they recommend that you reduce calories a bit and eat different food choices as well as pump up the exercise when you reach a plateau. I'm sure there will be times when we will have to depend on ourselves more than the band to drop a few but we can do it! Carol
  11. Hi Kelly Ann: For the first time today I had those same symptoms. I think they occured because I layed down too soon after eating. I had a light lunch around 2:30 and was feeling very tired since I didn't sleep well the night before. I only had time for a quick nap because my restaurant reopens at 5 for dinner. I laid down within 10 minutes of eating my lunch and fell asleep right away. I woke up at 3 choking on my own saliva....there was so much of it. I sat up and the coughing started...I couldn't stop...I kept coughing up saliva...it was gross. I also had a heavy feeling in my chest. Anyhow, won't do that again! Carol
  12. I have 100% faith in my band. I love my band and I would do this again in a heartbeat. I will reach goal and soon.......and, because of the band, I will be alive to tell the story of how great it is for many many many many more years...becasue it has saved my life. Enough said, this is not our thread to natter at each other. Carol
  13. Hi: I have lost 75 lbs and I have lots of loose skin, however....I'm also 55....a lot older than you and I have been overweight for a lot longer than you. I can't say for sure if your skin will bounce back....but it has a much better chance than mine....yours should still be somewhat resilliant. Carol
  14. I have a 10 cc filled with 9.5 cc. With each fill I felt restriction for awhile but as I lost weight I also lost restriction. I have less than 20 to reach goal and have maximum restriction right now, the Dr. feels that I most likely won't need another fill to get there. When I could still eat more than 1 cup of food per meal and was at 9 cc's I panicked and emailed my Dr. I was assured that it is not uncommon to have to go all the way to fill the band until you reach adequate restriction. Please tell your Mom this. Other posts in this thread seem to be really down on the band, please ignore them. The band is the best thing that ever happened to me...it takes work and patience but it also saved my life.....so, work and patience is well worth it. Most of the 11,366 members at this site feel the same way. Carol
  15. Rocker for sure........I can't wait! I don't get much of a chance to watch TV because of both businesses.....but I never miss Idol......and Coronation Street. We tape that on Sunday mornings and it takes Hubby and I all week to get through the two hour tape. Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh Idol!!! Carol
  16. Paige: It sounds like you are your own worst enemy...I don't want you to feel like we are beating up on you here....but you don't seem to be open, nor accepting, of excellent advice being given by Carlene. I agree when she infers that your band was defeated from the beginning. It sounds like you are looking for a miracle wonder tool that will take care of all your overeating and bad eating problems.....I don't think that exists. Please listen to Carlene....its very sound advice. Carol
  17. Bawilliams1: I too had the same fear. I have a 9.5 cc in a 10 cc band. With every fill I had great restriction but as I continued to lose weight the restriction would go away and I'd get another fill. When I reached 9 cc I panicked and spoke with the fill nurse about this. She said that it is not uncommon to not find perfect restriction until the band is near full or full, she also mentioned that most bands are fillable beyond their capacity and sometimes that is what has to happen. She has "filled" literally thousands of banded patients and has not had one yet that has not reached maximum restriction that they could work with. I felt much more relieved after this discussion......I have more than maximum restriction now, I can eat less than 1/2 cup of food right now but my last fill was only 4 days ago.....but I'm sure that once the stomach swelling is down and my body has adjusted that this will be the last fill for me and I will be where I should be.....only able to eat 3 meals / day of 1 cup of food. Carol
  18. Constant throwing up is agravating the situation, try liquids only for a few days so that the esophogus (sp) can heal. Carol
  19. Reflect back.....why did you get banded in the first place? Think of the consequences if you don't get back on track. Carol

  22. Wow.....what a CATCH! Could you imagine the type of woman he will end up with....because who would be accepting of that type of personality. He'll either meet his match and live in agony for the rest of his life or he'll grow to be a very lonely old man.....serves him right. It always hurts when you are attacked like that and it may not be the last time you will have to suffer something like this....just remember....you are better than this so get over it and move on! Carol
  23. I'm so lucky....my scars are visible but don't look too bad at all.....my port incision is very thin and still slightly purple. Carol
  24. Hmmmmm......what a "loaded" comment. Christmas means many different things to me and my family and just because we like to spend ridiculously at Christmas doesn't mean that we have forgotten about Christ. C'mon....that was so unfair. Carol
  25. LOL...good one Carlene! I love the "chicken Shit" comment. If published I wouldn't have given OJ or his book a nanosecond of my time. However, I'm interested in knowing if anyone had just a few seconds of curiousity as to what is written on those pages. I confess....I was curious because I just couldn't believe his audacity.
