  1. Linda, I think it sounds too drastic. You need nutrition. You need the protein shakes to keep your nutrition up. My shakes were only 120 calories. The main purpose of the pre-op diet is to "rest" your liver. Not giving it anything to work through. So by eating popsicles, broth, and diet drinks you are resting yourt liver and allowing it to "shrink" by not giving it fats. You need to drink nutrition. I had 3 protein drinks a day, ate all the sugar-free popsicles I wanted and all the broth I wanted. It was very tough but we have that goal in mind(surgery) so thats what got me through it. Its not easy. I have 3 kids and one of them is disabled so I hear ya about keeping up energy. So I ate a TON of popsicles and did my protein drinks and made it through the 10 days. I wish you all the best on one of the hardest parts of this process. Good luck.
  2. I have had 3 fills and have absolutely no restriction either. Never had, not even after surgery from swelling. I know it takes patience, believe me they tell me all the time. But I need to feel something to really begin my weight loss. I have been learning about lapband for a year and a half and would finally like to know "the feeling". I sometimes wonder if I will be one of those few that never feels restriction, and I wonder if the band is on right. I wonder lots of things...lol. But I will give it a few more fills before I ask the doc to check for problems with the band. Hang in, your in company with many others who have frustration.
  3. Mine is on my right side. My surgeons partner does them on the left side. So the running joke in their office is that they do this so can tell their patients apart....lol. But seriously they said its just surgeon preference.
  4. Yes, I had to do those tests......and more!
  5. Can you please tell me how I can find an administrator? I want the option available to me to delete some of my postings. I cant find them anywhere. Thank you in advance for your help.
