I used ice pack to reduce pain when i was at the hospital. It helped a lot.

The pain was a large cramping and would subside and come again. Happened about 15 minutes and was very painful!
I've at small amounts of honey. I'm going to look into stevia. I'm not fond of it, but it is better than the others.
I definitely will be ultra careful eating from now on.

I suck at keeping up with the forums, but I had to share...

I cried today. I made it into a size 20 pair of jeans!!!

That was probably exactly it. It takes awhile to learn your new stomach. I did the same thing with cream of wheat and ate it too thick. It could’ve been one bite too many and it also could’ve been from the brown sugar. I was told absolutely no sugar or anything with high fructose corn Syrup. They really didn’t want me using artificial sweeteners either, only Stevia. It will get easier! And when I was at your stage I was a harmonal mess ugly crying for absolutely no reason. Big {{{hugs}}}. It DOES get easier after the first week or so

I definitely am still healing, as I'm only a week out. Maybe too much too fast?
Best wishes on your upcoming surgery!

Thank you gabybab! I am relieved. For a minute I thought I’d already began to fail in under two weeks.

I’m finding I can eat almost double the suggested amounts without pain. Still staying under 800 calories

Lori, I had the mine on monday as well. I'm much, much better, but nothing ever prepared me for how much pain this surgery was. I now can lay on my side, but it was pretty rough there. I was so upset that I had made a terrible mistake. I feel better today, but still sore in the mid back when I drink a wee too much. I really hope it starts to get better for you! I'm weaning a bit off the meds finally. Feel better!

Having had both surgeries at separate times, sleeve was more painful for me. I personally would take 2 weeks off.
Depends on your after diet. I'm on liquid for 1 week and I'm on day 7. I literally have no energy. I suspect if your Dr allows nutrition earlier, you may he fine.
    Good luck!

Same and from what I’ve read it’s pretty common. My son and DIL both had wls and I used to freeze to death when I went there to babysit the grands. They’d keep their thermostat at 68F, after surgery they kicked that baby up to 74F with sweats and hoodies on 😂. I used to hate socks because my feet were always hot. Now they’re on 24/7.

These are all normal feelings. Trust me I have these and more going through my head. I'm very worried about skin hanging and a hanging chin. But, I'm marching forward tomorrow. Best of luck on yours. I bet you will be happy with your outcome!

    GradyCat, thank you!

gabybab, I will call tomorrow! I’m not taking the pain meds as much as I should. Maybe I should and hope it will get better? I’ve always been a tough it out person.

I think you're doing great! Since my surgery, which was 3/20/18, I've lost 162 pounds. That's less than 15 pounds a month. Don't get discouraged. It all adds up!

I had my surgery May 2018 and I have only lost 56 lbs. So 26 lbs after 2 months - you are doing well

I've had a hard run but after much heartache, I finally had my surgery on December 10th. The picture of me in the gray shirt was taken at my highest weight. That was my nephew's first xmas. The picture with the red shirt was taken a few days ago. Same sweet boy, same (but shrinking) auntie Gigi.
I am having multiple issues but the weight seems to be easily coming off.
I hope that others are doing well with all of your recent surgeries.

    I'm so excited!
I'm about 12 weeks post-op gastric sleeve and I was worried about my pre-planned two week cruise and how I would manage to eat and stay on the right track. I was so good! I didn't eat a single dessert or Pasta or pizza. I had a cheese omelette every morning for Breakfast, salmon for dinner every night and various things for lunch but all making good choices.
I just got back late last night and weighed this morning and I lost 2.5 pounds during my two-week cruise! Hooray! I exercised in the pool every morning and did lots of walking and stayed hydrated.
I'm just so excited that I made good choices around all that ton of food on the cruise ship and still ended up losing weight! Hooray! Yippee!
Here's a photo of me from the cruise - I've lost 25 pounds since surgery 12/11/18.

    Oh Elizatek -

First of all, I’m thrilled with my results with the sleeve. Down 65 pounds from August surgery.

One if the things I looked forward to most was the magical feeling of not feeling hungry and getting full after just a few bites of food.

    But I have neither.

    My typical eating day:

Breakfast; slice of bread spread with wedge of laughing cow cheese, slice of prosciutto and 2 sunny side up eggs. I eat 3/4 and my dog eats 1/4

Lunch: a big veggie salad with yogurt Salad Dressing (I work on this for 2 hours) and a chicken sausage.

    Snack: cup of berries

Dinner: 4-6 oz Protein and a cup of spiralized veggies.

Snack: 2 cups popcorn cooked in minimal oil

    I eat 1200-1400 calories daily.

I think I may give up bariatric Vitamins and switch to gummies. I actually eat much healthier now.

I love my mocha calcium chews - they are my candy!

I’m also focusing on a healthy long term relationship with food. I eat cake happily - but maybe 1x per month. I love going out to eat. But I always order things I will like as leftovers since I get 2-3 meals out of 1 order.

Bariatric surgery will not transport you to Nirvana. You will have to work to be successful. Can’t remember who said it, but bariatric surgery does not make weightloss easy - it makes it possible.
