  1. Forgot to mention not consuming more than 1300 calories a day, high protien everything, I do cheat 3-4 times a month, but I have done that from the begining, can still eat anything I want, bread, pineapple, asparagus, shrimp, it does not matter what it is I can eat it, I have only noticed a little bit of restriction since my last fill Oct.11, and my band or sto,ach is not stretched out, they check it everytime I go in!
  2. ok, I am right there with you, I have lost a total of 60 lbs, 14 pre-op and 46 since surgery on 3-17-09, I have a 10 cc band (lap band system), I have had 6 fills, I am at 8.2 cc, and I have not lost anything in almost 2 months, I am getting worried, I have increased exercise a little, I have done things to boost my metabolism, nothing seems to be working, yikes!!!! What is your dr. telling you? If you have any ideas let me know! I also am a texas gal, live in DFW area! Hope your weight gets moving down again!
  3. Psyllium is the ingredient for almost all fiber powders, it comes in capsules, drinks, lots of forms, or you can buy it whole and process it yourself!
  4. You should not use psyllium husk w/lap band, same reason to not use any of the fiber powders it will stretch out your new stomach, same as any carbonated drinks! Why would we want to mess up what we paid so much for and have put our bodies through hell for! Talk to someone who has done this, it could mean another surgery or no weight loss!
  5. I am 5 months post-op, I drink at least 100 oz. liquid a day, everyday, still have constipation problems, take milk of mag. once a week to cleanse, it is not a laxative and is non-addictive, it is magnesium, can be used everyday if have too., also mira lax is a stool softener used mostly to keep things going as a preventative, can also be taken indefinitely!

  7. ok, i am ashamed also, just at some of the junk i have been eating, graduation parties and such, was sick and down for 8 days (no exercise), no excuse for not loosing any in 2 weeks!!!
  8. Yes, that is your port! They attach the port to that muscle, so when you are laying down it is in general area of the incision and when you stand up it moves higher above the incision w/the muscle! Kinda creepy huh!
  9. You have just had major surgery, can walking 4-6 miles a day be extreme for 14 days post-op! If I were u I would call my doctor! The lap-band system book suggests no strenuous exercise for 4-6 weeks or what your dr. recommends!
  10. Had surgery yesterday the 17th, all is well, no gas shoulder pain, had surgery at 8am went home at 10:30 am, (call it drive through surgery) my suggestion is follow their instructions to a T, take your pain meds, don't be up more than they say, but walk around the house as much as can tolerate, I am walking about 5 minutes every hour, except during the night! Drink, drink, drink, broth, popsicles, flavor packets for water!! Clears until tom., hunger not bad at all! My current weight as of yesterday is 199, lost 14lbs during pre-op diet! Thanks to all for checking in on me! I thank God for His covering over my life, on my pre-surgery EKG it showed that at some point I have had a mild heart attack, did not even know it, again thank you Jesus for covering my life! Nancy
  11. Ok, this is my thought on the whole thing, do you not have to have tools to fix things in life, but you do not have to use tools to fix something if it is not broke, our control to our appetites is broke, we need a tool to help fix it, a face lift is to fix the way we look also, it is a tool to look better, what about implants (breast, teeth, eye lens,) they are all just tools to make us healthier, look better, feel better and to promote the beat down people in this world! We are and will not be defeated in this fight to be healthy and thin! Thank you for your ear! May God bless each and every one of you with strength, courage, and a voice to promote the well being of our bodies!
  12. Ok, then I just know that VS is going on my list too, I want sexy panties, thank yall for bringing the inner sexy me out!
  13. I just pray I am not going to freak on this liquid thing, I have controlled the panic eating before the liquid diet pretty OK, hope that helps to adjust better! My prayers go up for you all to have strength and peace during all of this! Faith is not always a loud roar, it is sometimes that still quiet voice saying, I will try again tomorrow! Nancy
