congrads!!!! tht is great 18 already... before you know it you'll be saying 50!! Time goes fast... just make mini goals, helped me...
  3. well, alot have those feeling right after surgery, i done 5 months of research before i got my band and i did have a break down day 2. Thinking what did I do, cried and all.. But, it didnt last long, and i love my band. I think you pump yourself up for this and read and research alot and decied yes this is for me, but we all all human, and have doubts, it's true reality sets in, it's like your divocing foods. It's like a grieving process, we all grieve different. As in regretting before the first fill, it's like you have your hopes so high and want results, and they dont come as fast as we like, most need or want a change or something right away to keep going and to stay motivated. It's very easy to slide back to old thoughts, i done tons of diets, none worked. I think we all will fight that for life or we wouldnt need this band if we were so stronge willed. I'm 20 months out and below my goal of 135. I fight cravings alot and know it will be that way forever, the band for me helps me with portion control. Just my thoughts..
  4. I haVE TRICARE PRIME too. The referral is for the consultation, they have to submit it to get approved for surgery, that is the tricky part. I had to have physc evaul, which they did at my doctor office for lap band, i had out of pocket, could of went thru tricare but would of drug it out longer.. They dont do that surgery at the base i'm at, i'm in AZ. I got the referral and thought wow approved, later is when i learn that is only for consult. good luck and you'll love the band!!
  5. Yeah, funny how you can do with out soda for almost 2 years, then it gets control of you again, kind of like smoking..lol./.(but never smoked Thank God)... yeah, I will just have to resist it again.. back to water!!
  6. I really noticed a difference after my 3rd fill. I had about 4.5 or so in at that time. So, hang in there restriction comes, best to go slow on fills though.
  7. HI, I am below goal (well was) 130 and my goal was 135. I got some (.25cc) taken out of my 14cc band, now at 8.90cc. I kept losing and didnt want to, that was 7 weeks ago, I saw my doctor and thought of getting a little more out because i saw 128 a couple times between visit, but when i weigh in at his office, i stayed the same weight as last time., so, i didnt. then for a few days now, i seem to be able to eat more then before, no warnings, and had pizza last night and usually can on handle a few bites, but ate the whole slice and part of the other, not the end crust though. and this morning at a slice of cold pizza, usually cant eat in the am, well most mornings, none the less pizza! And my scale is up to 133 too in weeks time. Debating when i need that fill back or what. I hope something isnt wrong wiht my band all of sudden. No pain or anything. In the past of have gone months between fills and no issues wiht hungar really. I just wonder i got used to be on the tight side and now it's not as tight and feels wide open. Also, for some strange reason i've been craving soda too, been without it the hole time, and no big deal but in the past week or so, been drinking some over ice and boy it taste great, before it kind of hurt when i drank it, not now. Thanks in advance for any advice..
  8. hi, congrads.. my insurance denied mine. i'm happy your approved you'll feel great afterwards!
  9. No regrets at all. I been banded 20 months at goal. Started at 258 and now 132. I would of be never got here on just dieting. The band isnt a quick fix but it's a great help!! I love my band most days. It helps me stay in check. All about portion control which i struggled with before banded. so I would do it again in a heart beat!
  10. Hi I am actually under goal by like 3 or 4 pounds. I never thought i be saying that. I did have a little removed because didnt want to keep losing, I gain a couple back and actually goes back and fourth. I dont want to get anymore out, dont want to gain too much back. So, I guess keep playing around with calories, I know the days I try to eat more, my shoulder tends to act up again.. Been a while since it bothered me... I hope you all have a Great New Year!!

well, if your losing and arent hungry.. you can wait on fills. being too tight isnt fun and bad for the band too.
  12. Congrads!!! I know it's relief to get approved and get a date.. glad you come here before and research the band, very smart, your way ahead of many!! happy for you, I love my band i know you will too!!

Well, I love my band. Fills are nothing, i like the band it's adjustable and reversiable too if need be. withe bypass you can stretch it out and you get that dumping sysdrome. BUt with the band, you need to keep up with fills and give up certain foods because of getting stuck. So, I say resereach til you know what is best for you. It's a life changing surgery no matter which one you pick. Good luck!

hi, some before and during and almos there, 10 to 15 from goal!
  16. HI,, this is very normal.. Once you get a few fills and have some restriction in your band, things will be easier to pass up and stay on track, because when you eat, it'll be a small amount and you'll be full for a few hours. just hang in there, your doing fine, your n "bandster hell " right now, time before fills, you'll survive it, we all been there, well, you took a bite of this or that, i bet in the past you would of eaten the whole thing and then some. so be proud of just a couple bites of things, it a step in the right direction, we cant change so fast, it's a process.. small steps lead to big accomplicaments!

HI, thanks for the info. I'm not worried about it as much, I did some research online, some said they felt more restriction when they fly, I can handle that. thanks again.
