  1. Happy 38th Birthday agatoprincess!

  2. Happy 37th Birthday agatoprincess!

  3. Hope all goes well for you. I am now 15 weeks pg and have 6cc in a 10 cc band. I have not yet had an unfill. I was tight in the early weeks and now everything seems ok. The Dr does not want me to get an unfill unless absolutely needed. they said I may not need an unfill at all. I dunno, guess I just have to wait and see how it goes.

    Add me to the club...

Congrats! I am 8 weeks today. I have not yet had any removed from my band, but I am thinking I need to. I am having a hard time eating much of anything that isnt a slider food. My DH thinks its crazy that the band can be affected so early in a pregnancy, I am glad to see that I am not the only one that needs an unfill so early. Healthy pregnancies to all!!

when should I have my IUD removed?

I got mine out 6/16/09, first period 6/18/09 and I am now 8 weeks pregnant. My Dr said it could happen this fast, but we have had infertility issues in the past so I expected it to take awhile. Good Luck!!
  6. It looks like I am in the minority here. My Kids are 6,5 and 2. I told them that I was going to see a belly dr that was going to help me be healthier and left it at that. They did not ask for any further expliantion, so I didnt offer one. When they get older I will tell them, but for now there does not seem to be a reason to.

    Riding While Fat

Go for it!!! It will feel good to get out there. You re not even gonna pay attention to what other s think.
  8. I had GD with all 3 of my pregnancies. I was on insulin for 2, one was diet controlled. I was not given the option for the pills, My peri said insulin is a better choice, because it is easier to adjust the dose to manage blood sugar levals. I was scared to death at first, but its no worse than stabbing yourself all the time to check your blood sugar. There are no neg effects of insulin. I was told to think of it as giving your body a "boost" with how much insulin you need. My blood sugars returned to normal right after delivery adn haven't needed any insulin since. HTH
  9. I am not sure how long we need to wait. The surgeon said he wanted us to wait a year. Then he added my being on the pill is not 100% and if I was to get pregnant its not really a big deal and he would work with me. So I don't know...
  10. I just had my second fill today. My first fill was a little rough, I could hear a tapping sound as the needle hit the edges of the port. He did get it after a few pokes and put 2.5 cc in. Today there was only 1.5 in there. He said this happens sometimes but that they will monitor me closly at my next visit to make sure that I am still at the 4.5cc they put me at today. He said if there is not 4.5 in 5 weeks when I go back, there may be a leak. He led me to believe that a leak was rare, and its possible to "lose fill". After reading al 13 pages from all of you I am really freaking out now. It seems like leaking tubing/ports is much more common than I ever though. DH thought band surgery was a mistake and that I sould have chosen by-pass, and now to possibly have a leak less than 90 days post surgery. Uggg!!!
  11. Good luck to you! My Dr wouldnt do the suregery until the baby was 1. I wish he would have been willing to do it sooner.

    Magic missing fill

I was going to ask this same question. I went for fill #2 today. He put 0.5 in at surgery, and 2.0 at first fill. Shopuld be 2.5 in the band, today there was 1.5 in the band. He told me that sometime when the fill is "tough" some of the fill does not make it into the band. HE said when I go for fill #3 they will double check the volume to make sure I don't have a leak. I really hope not, I don't want to start all over again with the pre and post surgery diets.

    What was your "Last Supper"?

I did not have a last supper. I found out my surgery date, and had to stat the liquid diet that day. I did get a small cheat day on Christmas, as it was in the middle of my liquid diet. I had roast beef, mashed potatoes veggies, etc.

    Drinking...

I too had a glass of wine 2.5 weeks after my surgery, while celebrating my childs birthday. We had a friend in from out of town, and she and I would easily drink a few bottles of wine in a night. That night I had a glass, maybe 2 at the most. I drank them slowly and cautiously. They did go right to my head. This was a controlled situation, I was at home, and in a safe location. (I wasnt driving or anything) I agree that you should check with your Dr first. I told my Dr after (at my fill) he didn't say much, but what can he really say after the fact? He told me to be very cautious with alcohol, because it will affect me differently now, and watch the empty liquid calories.

    Night time hunger

I wasn't sure if I should put this here or in the fill section. Pre-fill on Monday I was eating 3 small meals aday and feeling content unil the next meal time, for the most part. I would also have a few bites of cheese, or something in the evening for a snack. (even though the my dr prefers no Snacks at all), If I was really hungry still. After fill #1 of 2.5 cc, I am not hungry in the am. I may have a bite or two of oatmeal or something but thats about it. I have a small/reasonable lunch and dinner, but by about 8pm, I am starving. I have been drinking lots of Water, and I am sure that I am hungry and this is not just head hunger. I wasn't hungry like this before, and my next fill is 6 weeks away. I am not sure what to do. Is it bad for me to have a snack in the evenings? Should I just keep ignoring the feeling? (this is getting hard to do). Does anyone have any suggestions for good night time snacks? I hate going to bead with a growling stomache.
