  1. Hi Bobbie! Thank you for the message. Okay...here is the deal. I go through weeks sometimes where I eat like CRAP! I mean, take Tuesday for example. i was feeling sick with a cold so I went crazy with food. cheetos, peanut butter cups, snicker, frosty, cheese...etc. I gained a pound :0 ) But I snapped out of it. You will too. What I do when I get on a real bad binge is just to commit to one day of water, low salt, protein, etc. Just one day. You can do it. Sometimes that one day helps with the detox and you can make one day into two days. The choice is up to us ya know. My scale barely moved last month. There were three weeks when it hardly budged and i got SO frustrated bc I was doing everything right. So I went off track for a week to see if once I got back on track, it would move again. It worked! Set a mini goal and go at it! You can do it!

  2. Well hello hello! I saw your comment on my picture and I wanted to respond. I have a blog Once Upon A Time...In the Land of Cheese and Sunkist and have been blogging since my decision to get banded. You can read a lot more there about my weight loss. I work out 3 days a week now. But I have not been a hardcore "workerouter" this entire time. It comes and goes in spurts. What I eat varies. I try to keep my calories around 1200 a day, but I dont track them or journal my food. I just keep a running total in my head :) Slightly dangerous!!

LOL...feel free to email me anytime!

    Amy

  3. Hi Gorda! Thanks for checking in! I am doing good but have just been slacking on posting pictures on here! ARGH! I will do it though and thanks for the reminder! :) How are things with you?

  4. Hi Erin! Yes ma'am. I grew up just north of Topeka off of K-4 highway. I went to Seaman High School and then Washburn University...then I graduated and moved here to pensacola! I do miss things about KS. I miss farms, wheat fields, lazy summer nights...ahhhh...and SNOW! I've eaten at McFarlands a couple of times!

  5. Skippy, we sound like we started practically the same way. When I cam home from surgery I stayed the same for weight wise for several days. I think it was the fluids, the gas, etc. Don't be afraid of the scale...and dont put much weight (hahaha) on the numbers just yet. Keep doing what you are doing. How many calories do you think you are getting in a day?

  6. hahah! Thank you heidi!

  7. Thank you so much carmen! And congrats on your date! That is just awesome. It really means a lot to me when people let me know that my blog is more than just me rambling! Please keep me posted on your progress. You can always email me as well!

  8. Hey Heidi-Thank you for all the nice picture compliments! How did you are during the holidays?

  9. OOOOH REALLY? Is that a challenge? LOl, I think it is! I need a challenge bc lately I have been waffling back and forth with these same pounds! Let me know if you beat me! :) Thank you for letting me know that you read my blog and it's not just words :) That means a lot to me. Okay...challenge on. I am losing weight this week!

  10. Hey DW. There are times when it is hard to follow the "rules" but really...I dont have very many rules. I just eat less of what I used to eat. Some things like breads and pasta just dont go down well with good restriction, but unfortunetly...greasy food and stuff doesnt give me any trouble. Feel free to ask any questions you might have!

  11. Hi Cee-I am getting ready to go to a meeting, but I wanted to send you a quick response to your question on my picture. I just posted on my blog yesterday bc some people have asked me lately how my weight loss has been so good...here is a link to my blog Once Upon A Time...In the Land of Cheese and Sunkist

Check out yesterday's post. Then if you want, send me an email at amy.workman@gmail.com and we can compare notes!

  12. Hey! Thank you so much for the comment! I just now checked my messages so I didnt want you to think I wasn't responding! Feel free to ask me any questions you might have...this is a big decision to make but one that I havent regretted! you can always email me as well at amy.workman@gmail.com

  13. Hey Jenny! Thanks for following and letting me know! I am not a very good role model for working out. When I am working out on my regular schedule, we go twice a week to interval bootcamp training. Once, I worked out 5 times in a week...but I don't work out as much as I should! About two weeks after getting banded, I started walking and worked up to 3 miles and did my first 5k ever two months after getting banded...but havent done another one since :( How is everything with you going?

  14. Hey! How did you first fill go? Anything? Have you been back yet? Shoot me an email (amy.workman@gmail.com) and let me know how everything is going.

  15. Thank you for the comment! I set my goal around 170...mainly bc I couldnt even fathom being a healthy weight...so that was as low as my mind could go.

  16. Thanks Beth! I am glad you like my blog! I have learned so much from the blogisphere~! You will be 2 months out on Monday huh? Time will fly and soon you will be one of the seasoned bandsters!

  17. hahahah....your photo comment made me laugh...and I am having a bad case of the Tuesdays..so thanks for that!

  18. THEN, for dinner I have whatever. Hamburger (no bun), Chicken breast, baked or grilled, a small piece of steak or pork chop, etc., with a side. Mashed potatos, or beans, or a veggie.

i drink TONS of water. Over 100oz a day. I notice that when I have a week of eating salty foods for snacks, I dont lose as much or at all.

Sometimes for dessert I might have a skinny cow. I dont feel deprived. I just try to stay away from the crap that I know what help me reach my goal. But sometimes...like last night...I give in. I had 4 little white donuts and some cheetos. My bad :)

  19. Well, I am a bad one to ask regarding exercise. I try to go to bootcamp twice a week, but sometimes only make it once a week. I just dont do it like I should. Eating...I dont track my calories but I try to stay around 1100. For breakfast I might do a banana and a fiber bar, or just a fiber bar. Sometimes I just do a fruit of some kind. I try not to snack until lunch, and I eat around 11. Something with protien. usually a cup or meat like chicken salad, or a hamburger patty. Sometimes its leftover spaghetti from the night before, and I pair that with a serving of fruit. I might snack mid afternoon on a couple of crackers, or sunchips...but I TRY not to do the salty. I might have cherries or something instead.

  20. Thanks for the comment! Let me know if you have any questions along your journey.

  21. I cant believe you said you loved my style, but the first thing I was going to say to you after seeing you picture with your kick ass black boots was that YOU have a rockin style!

  22. Thanks for the picture post! Yes...I didnt even know my legs didnt go together until I saw that first pic! You know what? My boyfriends name is Tracey and his last initial is B

  23. You know, I wasnt in a lot of pain. I had pain meds at the hospital of course in my iv, and then when I got home I had liquid loritab. The only bad part for me at the hospital was coming out from being under. Yuck...I dont like that feeling, but it didnt last too long.

  24. You are being banded next week on the 14th?!?!?!? How exciting! I cant wait to hear how it goes for you! Do you have to stay over night?

  25. WHAT! Lord, I havent been in Dillards since I got rid of my credit cards over a year ago...I used to love buying their purses! i might check it out this morning. I am taking an early "lunch" and going shopping.
