  1. Happy 37th Birthday jen555555!

  2. Hi Jackie! Congratulations on the weight loss! I still feel restricted too. Not as much, but I can't eat as much as I use to (by any means) and mainly, I'm scared to try. My doctor told me that some people never require a fill (they are the exceptions). He has a patient that has never had a fill and is at 100 pound loss right now! AWESOME! Good luck!
  3. Hi Scotty, Yes, I feel the same, I think I'm going a little faster than most cuz I am already on regular food. I figure if I can chew it (to death) and swallow and feel ok, then it's ok. My doctor agreed (exception would be meats and breads, etc... things hard to get chewed up). Yes, you DO belong here. I dub you a new year hottie! Good luck!
  4. I think soup is a great choice. Then, you won't have to explain yourself if you don't want to! Good luck!

    8 Days post op

Hi Leticia, Wow, we're Lapband buddies, I had my lapband surgery on January 5th as well. It's funny, but now that you say it, my nose has been running. I was chalking it up to the weather, but I don't have the sniffles or anything. I'm finding that the longer I go, the more I am able to eat, which scares me a little. I don't go in for my first fill appointment until Feb. 16th. Good luck!
  6. Thanks! I am extremely happy. I've been researching and wanting to get banded for years now - at least 3. My insurance would never pay, so I bit the bullet and paid for it myself. So far, it's the best thing I've ever done. You have nothing to worry about. Yes, the pre-op diet is rough, but that's the worst part. Just do what you're supposed to do (and what you can) and take it day by day. AFter the first couple days it gets a LOT easier. Your body gets use to it. Good luck! Keep me posted.
  7. Hiya Jacks! I would say 2 full weeks, you will feel like a million bucks. I was banded last Monday (Jan. 5th). It's only been a week and 2 days and I would be up for 4 weddings in a day! My energy level is through the roof and I can see myself shrinking everyday. (I eat what I'm supposed to and exercise daily). The only thing I would be concerned about is what size dress you will be in by then! : )
  8. Hi All, I was banded on 1-5-09 and so far am doing wonderful. The pain the first couple days was pretty intense, but it seems to have subsided, all but a side ache (my Dr. says it's my body trying to get use to the band. I've lost 16 pounds so far and am soo excited for this journey to unfold. I feel like I have a reason to live again. I'm excited to get up each morning, I want to do things and my energy level is absolutely through the roof!
  9. I was banded on January 5. So, it's been a week and 2 days and I feel wonderful! You're right, the pain for the first few days was really intense, but it's slowly going away day by day. I have a strange pain in my side, and when I exercise it tends to get worse. I asked my doc about it and he said it was my body trying to get use to the new band and that it would go away. I'm not sure how to place a ticker at the bottom (love yours!) I started at 310 and am now at 294. My energy level is through the roof, but here in Kansas, it's much too cold to walk outside, so I'm relying on the gym for now to get my walking in.
