    Wearing a Body Shaper

good idea! i need to get one. i have lost 91 pounds since being banded on february 2nd '09 ... i feel like i have some loose skin and an empty double chin... wonder if i could get a body shaper that would be like a turtleneck? lol!!! well, beats being obese i suppose. feeling great. i think i'll look into some of those "spanks" my friends were telling me about though. good luck, karen
  2. hi! i have had my band for almost a year... i have lost 91 pounds. today i had a protein shake for breakfast, at lunch a 1/2 cup chicken salad. dinner was about 10 almonds, and then 1/2 cup of chili with 1/4 c of shredded cheese on top. i had coffee with half abd half, and water throughout the day. i take a chewable multivitimin and i am feeling great! i watch my carbs. everyone is different. good to find what works for you. good luck, karen

strawberry picking with the kids 4 months post op 53 pounds down

Wow!!! You look great! Keep up the good work.
  6. wow! i have had three fills with the most recent being yesterday also. i have always been advised to have liquids for two days after and then 4-5 days of soft foods. today i feel like the fill was pretty tight but i know that after 3 days it will feel perfect and that i will once again be eating very small portions. seems to me like all doctors have their own rules for fills and diets. i am restricted on carbs with only a certain amount i am able to have in one day. i have lost 60 pounds, so it's okay with me.

    How obvious is your port?

i had lapband surgery on 02/09 and have lost 60 pounds. i can assure you it isn't as obvious as being morbidly obese. sure it is a little lump but, i am lovin' it!

    I have ZERO restriction now...

yesterday i had my first fill. my dr. put a a large amt in, asked me to drink a little water, and it was stuck. he said that is what it feels like when it is too tight. then, he took out a bunch, i drank water again and it went down okay. so, he put a bandaide on it and poof! away i went. today i feel like i have no restriction. i feel like had more before. geesh, i have lost 30 pounds and i feel dangerously hungry now like i could eat my way back to the starting point. will this change for me? do i call and ask for a little more? what do i do now? i feel like i have no lap band at all. scary. if someone knows, please drop me a note.... thanks.

    Today was surgery

Thanks for your "reality " story. i have read tooo many sugar coated ones. mine was a little more like yours. i think the operating room did look like a torture chamber and it was freezing and i was annoyed by the some of the "personal conversations" the nurses were having. geesh, glad it's over. my problem was i couldn't wake up from the anethesia and i was there till 10:30 pm... all other fellow banders that day were long gone... i was wearing out my welcome. so happy for you, your gonna do great.

Is baby food okay to eat at first?

hi, i was banded 9 days ago and the first week after surgery you need to let your stomach heal so my dr. had a list he gave me when i left the hospital that included, sugar free drinks like crystal light, sugar free jello( which i ate by the case) and, sugar free popcicles.after the third day i could have protein drinks like lo carb slim fast 3 times a day. your dr. will let you know what you can have because all dr.'s are so different. just be ready to send someone out to the store to pick up a few things because during all the excitement you will need a "go fer" ..... good luck, and happy banding!!!

    February '09 bandsters?

thanks for the advice , i did ask the nurse. she stated that it is "normal " and that the present pain will pass in time. i started taking adult strength tylenol liquid and that works well for me, i can function too without that drugged feeling, thanks, karen

    February 2nd Bandsters?

hello wendy, hope today brings you to feeling more comfortable. i was surprised at how long it is taking to feel good. i thought it was an "easy operation" a person would quickly bounce back, as in a day or two. wow! reality check for me. i have found that everyone is different and has their own healing time frame. i am feeling more comfortable, slow but a little better everyday. i find the left port pain to be the real "bugger" ...hang in there, know that i too am having the same "discomfort" and that i am keeping you in my thoughts. take care.

 yippie!!!! i am almost there !!! monday mornin' here i come. i realize it is a tool, the first step in a long process, but i have already lost 20 poungs, feel better about myself, and wear one smaller size in jeans and shirts!! i am a yo-yo'er so i have plenty of sizes in my closet to choose from. today i begin the two day liquid only diet to prepare my liver for final shrinking. i plan on shopping, being away from food and having a lot of laughs with my husband. i have been pretending he is food. i chase him and try to bite him. he is fast so i do get some excercise in! he sure is great suport. i will be thinking about all my fellow to be banded members today.
