    Almost 4 months post op

Jan 21st cking in....down 22 lbs. It's getting slower, but staying off. Hope to get to 199 by the 23rd of the month, goal.....30th reunion on that day, it would be nice! Go for a fill on the 12tth, that always seems to kick off a 3 lbs loss. Is that common for anyone else? But, what is interesting is that those 3 lbs loss will be total loss for the month or next fill???? Any tips for maintain a weight loss of 2-3 lbs a week?? I keep my pedometer on walking advge of 4,000 steps a day. Trying 1000-1100 cals a day. Not watching the carb intake. Help, Help!! What's working for YOU?
  4. hey, how are you doing? any progress with the doctors? I left a message on my blog, the entry where you made a comment. Wishing the best...Patti

    It was a success

yippie! It was a good procedure! No problems to report, moving around with much ease. No too much pain, I am able to get down my liquids, protein drink. I am very happpy!!:tt1: My doctor is a great guy, very good at what he does....gastric/lap-band. I want to post my surgery, and how it went, very good. I thanks those who dropped me a note wishing me the best on my date for surgery. I will keep you posted as I progress. But for now i can say I am so happy and glad this part is over and ready to take the next steps.

    It was a success

JennyLou, I had seen my cardiologist, BP too high, and he always suggested to me to drop 25 lbs.....that it would make the difference in the reading. It was so hard to get that amt of weight off and more to keep it off. I asked him about his thought of the lap-band, he knew of it and the success, so he agreed and signed the paper work from the Advanced Bariatric Group. He noted a certain ICD code for billing, medical necessity. It was covered by Anthem Blue Cross of CA. The approval was quick! Good luck, keep me posted

    Hello from central California

I am a patient with the Advance Bariatrics Dr. Fliex and Dr. Scwartz, they are great! wonder if you call their office they could direct you to a doctor's group they work along with?? I was seen by my cardio doc, and he agreed that the lap-band was a good option for me. So the referal came from him. good luck. they are in Fresno. I was banded on 1/21 have dropped 22 lbs so far, slow but good.

thanks for the info, I ckd it out. I think I should try writing down what is going IN! then I have a visual of what and how many cals. going in. I have my pedometor on everyday, I do get much happier when I see that I hit 4,000 steps or higher, means I was moving around much more. going to try to correct some ugly habits this weekend, see if that helps get out of 208, I had seen 207 so going to get back on track!!! Have a great weekend

    Let me have it!!

I am at a good restriction, very good.....could be "sweet spot", so why do I get down 2-3 soft chocolate chip cookies down much too easily?? NO pain, no discomfort....yet I can attempt to have my lean cuisne meal.....no way! discomfort at 4-5 bites. I dont get it?? I realize I lack the will-power to stay away from the cookies, slice of cake. I bet if i had the same discomfort as when I try to have real good foods, I sure as heck would not attempt to put it into the mouth!! I am going to try to have more fruits in the house, and got to dump the chocolate cake that is sitting on my countertop!! Anyone with this kind of problem going on, let me know how to deal with it. Crap food goes down and the good stuff has trouble....what's with that?? LAST NIGHT'S DINNER WAS VERY SM AMT OF STEAK, BROCOLLI AND CARROTS(STEAMED) it took me forever to finish, discomfort even with chewing slowly......tell me why?? BUT THE CHOCOLATE CAKE WHEN DOWN LIKE A CHARM:w00t:

    Just alittle out, please!

kept my appt for a fill, but didnt need the fill, needed just a tiny bit out! in fact he removed .8 of a cc, amazing how that sm amt can make a difference in comfortable eating. I was able to get my 1/2 bowl of soup down without any pain. And I still have the fullness......it' s great! Had my lunch, portion was good, stopped at full. I am hopeful that I might be at the "green zone" !!:smile2: No hunger in the morning, satisfied with my liquid protein drink, can make it till 1:00pm lunch then on to dinner at about 6:30pm. Now, I have to work on the walking, still have my pedometer on daily (thanks Delivered, that was a great idea). I am up to at least 4,000-5,000 steps aday. Thanks lapband, you can be my newest bestest friend!!!:tongue2:

    Just alittle out, please!

Girlfriend, you are quick!! How are ya? YOU are getting closer! You remember that pic you posted with the playboy bunny, well, I copied it and sent it out to my classmates! We have a 30th reunion coming up soon, it was so much fun sending a glimpse of the new and improved Patti....da bunny girl!!! thanks for sharing so much with us!
  22. pvtash61

    Am I overfilled?

Ditto, I agree....you need a sm amt out. I had .8 of a cc out today and I am happy! much more comfortable, my soup went down good, fullness is there. Pain is gone!! I would say call the doc, get alittle out, make yourself a bit more comfort, and like you say....secure that you will not do damage to yourself. Good luck, hope to hear you are doing better
  23. pvtash61

    On my way

Good choice, you are going to like the lapband. It is a slow loss, but I have come to understand.....slow is good. I too would like to be around for my new little ones, I have 7 children, ranging from 29-----2 yrs old. I love them dearly, have a great husband.....got to live to be at least 85 yrs old!! This is going to be good for you, I am so happy, got a real chance at the weight loss. Good luck with the process, keep us posted Patti with a smile
  24. I would guess you are too tight. I was just in, today, for a small unfill. he removed .8 of a cc and now that ugly pain is gone. The fullness is still here, but that pain is gone. I could have my 1/2 bowl of soup. Yesterday, not even throwing it in the blender helped, it hurt so bad. Everything was so painful to try to get down, even going slow, chewing, and very small bites.....just didnt go it. Remember, it is not suppose to hurt.....you should be able to manage the mental hunger and be able to reach fullness with sm portions. I would say, you need to have a small amt removed. I am so glad I kept my appt today, it was a long 4 weeks. good luck, keep us posted.
