I had my band done at Plaza Medical Center in Fort Worth.

Hey chica, well I didn't have to stay the night because I everything tested out fine on me. They gave me a i think its called a gt scan. Basically they give you this really nasty fluid to drink that shows up on the x-ray to show if your band is working properly and since mine was fine i got to go home. As for recovery, I think I'm doing pretty good. Still a little sore at the port site and I have really bad gas in my chest but I'm able to move a lot more. I have no problem keeping anything down either. Thats awesome you already are dropping some weight! Are you excited about next week?

actually a little depressed i gained back 4 lbs i don't know what to do b/c i've been eating right (except for a small peice of cake) but that was it! That shouldn't have caused me to gain 4 lbs. I guess I just have to wait til i go to my appt on the 16th. I'm glad that you were able to eat fine today. That soup never tasted as good as it did today huh? its amazing the things you miss when you can't have it.

omg i know right!! ahhhh!! lol. yea thats what i heard from my insurance too that I may have to stay overnight too but my doc said i won't..we'll see and honestly at this point i don't care... i'm going to be in bandland!! yay!!! what do u have to do for your pre-op?

Well as for the gas pains they said gas x... that doesnt' really help too much for me. My family is too far away (thank you army) My parents live in florida and my older sister lives in georgia. My mom was going to fly out for my surgery but my hubby told her he could take care of me. My whole family is very supportive of the band its just his mom lives 20 mins from us .

Nope I started monday on mushies. Very soft mushies, next week I can go to a little bit more lumpy food.

Well my insurance didn't require none of that. All I had to do was attend the seminar, the nutrition evaluation and the psych. evaluation. I'm done with all of that. So just still waiting on my doctor. I'll be honest, I'm not looking forward to the liquid diet part. My older sister had her lap band surgery on December 8th and she said that she's not hungry but she just wants certain tastes in her mouth. The broth gets really old lol.

Well **happy dance** for you for your weight loss!! yay!! I just got back from my post-op appt and I've lost another 4.5 lbs according to their scale so that makes my total weight loss to 13.5 lbs. I like my mother-in-law's scale better lol. I found out I can eat pasta (overcooked) and mashed potatoes and soft veggies and fruits today. They took of my steristrips except for one. Its really stuck. I'm so excited about all of this. I hope ur doing good

The cake went down fine actually a little too fine, but I only ate a little slice. When do you go back to work?

Omg it hurt so bad!! lol that needle was huge!! i feel a little restriction but i'm still able to eat way more than they said i would. they said about 4 oz... i'm eating at least 6-8oz per serving... how have u been? and thank you!!

so i had my pre-op testing today so far everything is still good and they told me my time (10:30 am on 2/16) this is all so exciting!! i cant believe just a couple more days!!! hows everything with you?

Guess what..... exactly 2 more weeks for you!!! yay!! So I had some blood work done today and so far everything is still good and they told me my time of surgery which is at 10:30!! I can't believe just 5 more days!! Its so exciting!!

Yes!! In fact one of the nurses at the hospital had the lap band done about a year ago and so far she's lost 115 lbs!! She started at a 6x (i didn't even know they made clothes that big for women) and she's down to a 16/18. She looks great and is so happy. Oh by the way my hospital is awesome! Its like a hotel they have valet parking and even a shoe shine place! Its really nice. I'm feeling really confident about all of this. As for you.... enjoy your food as long as you can!!! really you will miss it. I mean yes i'm happy with the pre-op diet i'm not sure exactly how much i've lost yet but i wish i had just one more day for believe it or not but corn! i love corn and i can't eat it right now b/c its a starchy veggie. crazy huh lol

Hi so when did you get banded? I'm still waiting on my surgery date.. i swear they're taking forever lol. You look great! How much weight have u lost so far?

hey jessica well to answer your questions, i didn't keep my lapband a secret. I figure who cares?? you know? i'm doing something positive with my life and if people don't accept that then they can kiss my.... well you get the point. As for my scars I'm still just a week out so I can't tell you just yet how they look. I think if you really really want this you will lose the weight. You can't go into this thinking negative. You are your own worse enemy. My older sister is about your weight and she was banded in december. She lost 10lbs her first week to but by christmas she gained it back because she was eating things she shouldn't have. Well after her first fill she decided she won't do that again and has lost a total of 15 lbs from jan 5 to february 5. So I know you can do this and it will be hard but I know in the end it will all be worth it! Good luck and keep in touch!

Yea I just got back actually. They didn't find anything. They wanna do an mri on my shoulder and if they don't find anything that way they wanna do a scope through my navel. It sucks. The only positive was that I lost 3 more lbs!!

Well your supposed to eat every two hours is what my surgeon said. My hubby made me some veggie beef soup and adding lots of broth and putting it through the food processor for me. That's kinda been helping me from being so hungry. I got that isopure protein and to be honest I haven't had it since day 2. Its soo nasty. I'm about to start on my chocolate soy protein. I think I'm healing pretty quickly. I'm able to keep everything down with no nausea. My incisions are not bad anymore except that port one still and now its just the gas pains that are bothering me the most now. When did your surgeon say you can start mushies?

I was pretty sore for about a week. What helped me was to keep moving, walking a lot and of course my pain meds . I do hope you feel better and congrats on being banded.

Hey Debbie, sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I've been a little depressed myself lately. I gained 4 lbs back this week. I'll be honest, I ate something I shouldn't have but I only ate a little and I really don't think it should've caused me to gain back 4lbs . I told my DH that after we get our taxes back I want an elliptical. Its just so hard to get to the gym after work b/c all I want to do is sit at home but I figure if I get the elliptical, after work when I just want to be lazy and watch TV and can be using it while I watch TV. I hope you're doing good.
