  1. Hey Katie!! I got a question,if you don't mind me asking, did you wait until you made your goal before getting your TT or after? And do you think I will need one?

  2. Thank you so much Debbie! Did you do anything extra to drop your 5 lbs? I understand this is a time for healing but I guess I'm too stuck on the fact that I want this weight gone and out of my life. I wasn't always heavy, the weight came on when I was married to my ex. I should've listened to my mom. He was very abusive and I started at 140 with him and within a year I was up to 240. My heighest weight was almost 260. I yo yoed back and forth between 215-240 for the last couple years and its just upsetting that I let myself get this way. I don't have any kids I just feel my body shouldn't look the way it does. My DH says the same thing that you say that I shouldn't be too hard on myself but I'm army brat, the daughter of a Command Sergeant Major who served 30 years in the Army, and I my dad always made me strive for perfection. I guess that I'm applying that mentality to my weightloss. Thank you so much for being there for me in my time of need. *Hugs*

  3. Thank you! So far TX isn't too bad. The weather is kinda annoying but the drivers are even worse. I grew up in germany most of my life so when it comes to driving I drive the Germany way meaning I honor the right of way and when it comes to merging we do a zipper like affect; the car on the left goes then the one on the right. Here I've seen two cars try to merge on one road at the same time and naturally it caused an accident and then because everyone wants to look instead of paying attention another accident happened right after. Other than that, I like it. :)

Anyway, I've been bugging my doctor's office everyday trying to find out the status of my surgery date. Basically some lady still has to put everything together. I don't know why its taking her so long :(. Well I gotta get back to work talk to you soon!

  4. Tricare Prime Remote is a little different from Tricare Prime. Basically since we're not near any military posts, I get to choose my doctor. And since you're regular prime you may have to have your procedure done at womack if they do it there. But good luck and keep in touch!

  5. well my hubby now is a recruiter and we have tricare prime remote and it was super easy for me. I went to my pcm and told her I wanted it and she reffered me to this doctor here in ft. worth and they submitted the paperwork in tricare and I was approved within a week. I started my process back at the end of october and I get banded 2/16. It would've been sooner if they weren't so booked up. Also from what I've read from other military wifey's on here they didn't have any trouble either. Basically you have to be at least 100lbs over weight and/or your bmi has to be over 40 but even that you can get around b/c my bmi is only 37 and i'm only 89 lbs overweight. I hope that helps.

  6. actually a little depressed i gained back 4 lbs :( i don't know what to do b/c i've been eating right (except for a small peice of cake) but that was it! That shouldn't have caused me to gain 4 lbs. I guess I just have to wait til i go to my appt on the 16th. I'm glad that you were able to eat fine today. That soup never tasted as good as it did today huh? its amazing the things you miss when you can't have it.

  7. Ahh ok well thats great :) so are you all healed up? if not how long does it take?

  8. Aw I'm so sorry to hear that. Yea I have to be honest, I thought this would make things a little easier and it doesn't seem so. I've noticed when I eat I've been getting these pains in my left shoulder. I mentioned it to my doctor during my last fill and now they want me to have and EGD on the 12th. I'm kinda nervous about it but its getting to the point of being really annoying. Also my weight loss has again stalled. I keep bouncing between 214-217 again. I got my wii fit and its fun. I'm trying to do that everyday but thats proving a lot harder with work and life getting in the way. Thanks for checking in with me. Don't worry we'll get through this. I'm still keeping faith that next year this time we'll look back at this u kno. Later chica!

  9. Aww I'm sorry that you weren't feeling well. I started back on monday and it was ok. I kinda twisted the wrong way so the area where my port is really tender. Other than that it wasn't so bad. My doc told me if you have a more strenous job such as your's that you should wait at least 2 weeks before returning. I hope you feel better tomorrow.

  10. Aww thats great!! Good luck! I hope it doesn't hurt you as bad as it did me! Let me know how it goes!!

  11. Aww your a St. Paddy's Baby! As for when you eat lunch todoy: chew, chew, chew! I haven't ate out yet since being banded but anything soft should be ok.

  12. aww. I'm so sorry to hear that you're in a lot of pain. What did they give you for meds? I did have trouble dressing myself for at least 3 days and my doc said I couldn't shower for 48 hrs after the surgery. Trust me it will get better! I think what helped with my healing process was walking around a lot. You have to keep moving (at least when you're awake) I do hope you feel better. Get your rest! xoxo

  13. basically i was on the atkins diet.. no soda, no pasta, rice, bread or fruit. Low carb/fat high protein hope that helps!

  14. Congrats on making it to size 12 and your weightloss to date. I cant' wait to only have 30 lbs left to lose. I wanted to know besides calorie counting what types of exercise do you do?

  15. congrats on ur 20 lbs!!!

  16. Congrats on your weight loss!! Did your fill hurt?? I'm doing pretty good, I stalled at 219 for about 2 weeks and weighed myself today and I'm down to 216 so that makes me down 31lbs :) I'm doing the shrinko de mayo challenge, trying to lose 15 lbs by 5/5 bringing me down to 207, you should do it with me!

  17. Congrats!! If you don't mind me asking where were u banded? I will be banded in Feb. and what was the hardest part for you throughout your experience?

  18. congrats!! yea i just had my pre-op appt today. I'm so excited 2 more weeks from monday!!! Hopefully they'll let you know something within the next week :)

  19. First off, thank you and you know that your just as bad ass!! (twins...both of us are hot together!!) I definitely think you can lose 10lbs by May. Do you know how much you're eating during the day? And how late to you eat your last meal? I try (key word) try not to eat after 7.

  20. Fort Worth Lap band- Dr. Smith. I have my pre-surgery consult on the 2nd. I've really been going back and forth in my head if I can really do this if I'll be successful. I've seen so many people either they did great or others who didn't do right and gained the weight back or stretched out their stomach and I don't want to be on that end of it. I'm so glad to find someone being banded the same day as me! you have to keep in touch. If you don't mind me asking what is your starting weight and your goal weight?

  21. Guess what..... exactly 2 more weeks for you!!! yay!! So I had some blood work done today and so far everything is still good and they told me my time of surgery which is at 10:30!! I can't believe just 5 more days!! Its so exciting!!

  22. have you been banded yet?

  23. Have you gone back to work yet?
