    Any February 16th bandsters?

Babe, I'm sorry you didn't lose anything. I know that fill helped me out a lot because two weeks prior to it, i had stalled at 226. Also I wasnt' making the best choices either...german chocolate cake..so evil but so good lol. How many calories are you taking in a day? And are you getting your Protein in? I noticed that when I started getting more protein in, my weightloss started up again. Have you scheduled your fill yet?

My Lap Band does not work

I am so sorry to hear that you're not doing to well with your band. I've only been banded for about a month now but one thing I've learned from reading posts and what has helped me is of course trying your best to kee active and make sure you're getting your protein in. I read about a slow loser who only lost about 35 lbs her first year and her second year she reached her goal by simply increasing her protein. I know that its really hard to keep at it when you don't see results and going back to old habits isn't good either. We did this for a reason and you must first and foremost realize that this isn't a quick fix. We didn't gain all of our weight in a day and nor will we lose it all in one day. When you're eating, are you making sure that you are chewing really well? I noticed that once I started to chew and take smaller bites, I was able to keep food down and feel more satisfied. It does take practice, especially if you're like me and was eating military style all the time-- swallowing and not chewing lol. I do hope that with your new insurance that you can get a more support. Remember the band is just a tool in our weightloss. I do hope that helps and if you ever need to talk just let me know.

    considering lap band and scared

Trust me it is not that bad at all, and is so worth it. I've only been banded for just a little over a month now and I have no regrets. I personally feel the hardest part is waiting for the approval, just because you're so anxious to get it done. The good thing about anestesia is its over before you even know it. The tests they perform are just to make sure your surgery goes as safely. Everything they do is for a reason, and if this is something you really want it will all be worth it in the end. Good luck to you.
  8. Hey Debbie! Congrats on your weightloss!! You're doing amazing! So I read on one of your posts how you said your fill "was a piece of cake"....did they numb you or am I just that big of a baby?? Mine hurt pretty bad. Kinda felt like a bee sting. Also I was thinking about making a spreadsheet for all the feb. bandsters so we can track all of our weightloss, what do you think?

  9. Hey Shelly!! I just wanted to say that I saw your post ealier and I wanted to congratulate you on your weightloss!!!

It was on the third one where Capt. Jack Sparrow was going crazy and all he has was one peanut and shot one of his imaginary selves and said "my peanut".

    Your top ten reasons

Ok my top 10 reasons why I want to lose weight: 10. So I won't be depressed going shopping because everything that is cute won't me. 9. To not get high blood pressure like my parents and older sister and to prevent from getting any other diseases and complications due to being over weight. 8. To feel more physically attractive. 7. To show that if I can do it anyone can. 6. To be able to wear a two peice anything and look good in it. 5. I know this is naughty but do more things behind closed doors with my DH.:sneaky: 4. Wear all the cute bra and panty sets from Victoria Secret:blushing: 3. I tore my acl and meniscus in my right knee and I want to be able to walk or run for long periods of time without it hurting or slipping. 2. To be in shape 1. My number reason to lose weight is to be happy and love myself again.

    One month out!

Well, I said I would try to keep everyone updated more often, its not working out as well as I planned. :blushing:A lot of things have been going on with me emotionally with life lately. I feel like I may be trying to do too many things at once. I decided to promise myself that I will try-- key word here..."Try" to let things go and not let so much get to me. :crying:I realize that, that is what is holding me back on my happiness. I let too many things get to me, work, friends, family.. I spend all my extra time trying to make other happy and I realized I don't know how to make me happy. So that's my new thing is to start focusing on me first. Ok enough of my dramatics, I had my first fill on monday! I have a 10 cc band and they put 3.5ccs in. Ok so I'm sure everyone wants to know how it was. Well first off, it hurt! The needle is about 4 inches long and the width of a 14 gauge peircing needle! It hurt going and and coming out! Well the positive thing was I got to watch on the x-ray machine everything that was going on and I found out that the actual band is right under my breast bone, which makes sense because when I gets stuck thats where I feel it. They of course made me drink barium again to make sure everything was going down fine. That stuff is so nasty. All in all it lasted about 10 mins and I'm so glad that it's only once a month! I was on liquids all day monday and mushies yesterday. Today I get start soft foods but I do feel it a little, the restriction that is. I'm still learning to chew, chew, chew. Oh and I'm down 25 lbs!! So thats my march update!
