  1. Hi All, I've been reading the forums this week, trying to compose my pre-surgery shopping list. Can any veterans help me out and let me know if I'm forgetting anything? Thanks! Gas-X Strips Chapstick liquid Tylenol Chewable Multivitamins Baby Wipes Protein powder Ready-to-Drink Protein shakes Probiotic Pearls (this is my own addition, my chiropractor said he thinks it will help my stomach) Biotin Tablets (This is my own addition, since I am worried about my hair falling out when I start to lose weight) Bromelain Tablets (another addition of mine, Bromelain promotes healing after surgery) Grocery: SF Jello SF juice SF Popsicles SF Hot Cocoa Drinkable Yogurt broth and Soup Milk (for protein shakes)
  2. I'm having it done on January 12th as well! For my pre-op diet, I'm supposed to be following the Atkins or Southbeach diet, then do a liquid diet 4 days before surgery. I've gotten sidetracked over the holidays, so I'll be getting back on the wagon with Atkins on January 1st. Good luck, all!
  3. Thanks for your input, all. I will stick it out for the first two days, at least. I'll go home if it's really bad.
  4. My mother is going to stay with me while I'm in the hospital, and I'm planning to stay at her house to recover afterwards. However, I'm dreading it. I've recovered at her house for another surgery, and it was terrible. We don't get along and she's a cruel control freak, so if there is any way I can go back to my own house after surgery, I would like to. Does anyone know how much care I will need afterwards? Will I need someone to stay with me after the first day, or is it okay to stay by myself? Will I need someone to help bathe me, etc? I have friends that can pick up prescriptions for me if needed. Thanks for your advice.
