  3. hey kareen!!! I havent been on in along time! So sorry to get back to you 8 months later! I have my seminar the 15th of this month im sooooo excited to get everything started! I know a few people who have used the same doc and they've been able to get it done a few months after the first apt. So I'm hoping I don't have to go on a six month diet. I think my doc has enough info to send in too!! Hows everything going with you?!! I'm going to try and get on here once a day!!! I need the support! I'm nervous about plenty of things but I know the pros outweigh the cons by a ton!!

    question(s) on exercising

I havent gotten banded yet but i think no one should feel ashamed to go to the gym. My BMI is 46 and although sometimes i do feel intimidated i just remind myself...This is what a gym is for!! Its for those of us who need to get in shape, for people who need to stay in shape (hopefully one day will be all of us ). I really like going to the gym. Try not to focus or even make eye contact with the other people. Maybe try and take an Ipod, or watch the tv. I dont have an Ipod or MP3, but watching Ellen while I'm riding the bike is always fun:biggrin:.

    College Students Report Here!

I'm 21, a junior at Buena Vista University in Iowa. Majoring in Human Services with a minor in Psychology. Im hoping to be a substance abuse counselor for teens. I have no children and I'm hoping for insurance and everything to go through by this summer so i can move home and have my parents and syblings take care of me:rolleyes:. I'm kind of a baby at heart. I just have been reading through post and it sounds like the first week or two is hell. So i think having family around will be good for me and I'm a hardcore student with a low tolerance for pain. I'm out a week if i have the flu! So I'm thinking spending a month at my parents wont hurt. AHH im getting excited just for all the appointments i have coming up.
  10. Hi everyone! I'm new to the site. I just found out a few days ago that insurance will cover the surgery. I'm not quite sure when I'm getting it done but I've been reading through posts and I am so scared for the first couple days out of surgery. I do not handle pain very well and know it is going to hurt so bad! I need to get over that. Any suggestions or helpful comments? Do they give you pain meds? I know you cant swallow big pills so im guessing things like vicodin are out! I'm going to be living with my mom for a month after the surgery so i will have someone to look after me but AHHHH :tongue2: im scared...and nervous. Hopefully posting and reading responses will make me more comfortable and not so scared by the time it comes around.
