  1. OMG, I just knew the "it's a tool" people were gonna come and preach to you. So sick of that. Your fills are twice the cost of mine, and when they start coming out of my pocket I will be having a chat with the doc!!! Have you tried talking to him to give you more cc's in the fill, or maybe they will set up payments? Surgery is a lot of money and you should have your fills and get your money's worth!!!
  2. NO COMPARISON The lapband is nothing if you are comparing the two.
  3. That's ridiculous!!! My doctor is going out of town so they couldn't get me in for 7 weeks--pushing me past the global period so now I have to pay for that fill where it would have been included. Really P's me off, but I guess this time it's understandable. But YOU, there's no excuse for that....they pushed off your appt. and other patients are going to be seen instead! It was probably a receptionist who couldn't think outside the box so I would call them back for sure!
  4. I hear ya! I think we have an amazing ability to sabotage our own success, though. I am struggling with that myself. It helps me IMMENSELY if the bad food choices are not even brought into my house....if they're there and I see them...well it's a 50/50 chance I'm gonna eat them. Surround yourself with good stuff and see if it's easier to get back on track.
  5. That's interesting to know.....just in case
  6. ????? Hormones? From what? Eating more hormone injected chicken? LOL Isn't it more likely because you're just feeling better about yourself?
  7. Very true, to find out if she has any recourse she must first gather all the info and facts--
  8. PROTEIN!!!!! Sounds like you're eating more of it!
  9. Losingintall is right.....this will pass and you will be hungry!. Not to be negative, just warning you so you can prepare yourself. Now is a good time to get yourself into proper eating habits so that when hunger takes over it will be easier to stick to the diet plan until you have restriction again I personally am at a "lack of any restriction" time longing to get back to where you are now!
  10. "Why can't you just diet and exercise!" I'm pretty sure ALL of us here have had at least one negative Nellie tell us something like that. You should just tell them this: "OMG! WOW! I NEVER thought of that before? THANK YOU so much!!! All these years and all this research and nobody ever told me that diet and exercise would help me lose weight?? THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU I can't wait to start!" Say it so sweetly it will confuse them then walk away. LOL
  11. Over 6 weeks I went from NO BM....to diarrhea.....to constipated....to finally back to normal!
  12. You'll do fine! It will be over so fast and then you will get your nice meal of broth and Jello the next day! As if you haven't had enough of that right? One thing I've notice by reading these boards is that some people say they were really sick afterwards. Might want to ask the nurses to give you a nausea patch or injection before surgery. Something I would think to ask for in the future if they didn't suggest it.....
  13. Yeah but our digestive system breaks down what we put in our mouths whereas a raw peace of meat doesn't. Not saying eating meat tenderizer is safe, that's for a doctor to answer, just pointing out the difference in why it might not necessarily be harmful.
  14. I had the single incision also. I wouldn't say I was in pain, but certainly had some soreness at certain times for at least a month, maybe longer.
  15. After 7 days of clear liquid diet I had lost 9 pounds. One week post surgery and 2 weeks on liquids I had lost another 6 pounds, total 15. One month post op I had lost 19 lbs, eating regular foods. Two months post op--lost 21 lbs total, eating regular foods, one small fill in this time.
  16. Shirley, it would probably (okay-definitely) help if you saw another doctor who would document in HIS notes that the surgeon screwed up. The actual jerk surgeon surely won't document that HE screwed up. Otherwise there would be lots less lawsuits! Many malpractice attorneys will even have doctors they can refer you to if you can't find a doctor on your own to verify the mistake. And many of those attorneys won't charge you for the consult either. Good Luck, if you pursue this keep us posted!
  17. I was on a 1-week clear liquid diet for liver reduction and lost 9 pounds that week.
  18. Thanks everyone. You're all awesome! Today I decided that you're ALL right, and I am going to keep moving on, because it wouldn't make sense not to!
  19. I became a member when I was first thinking about it way back then, didn't realize I had a login already! I became a real "member" December 2010 when I was banded
  20. You'd be shocked to know what happens in the medical world for a buck! But that's another topic altogether......
  21. There are people filled appropriately that lose the desire to over-eat and likewise can't eat a ton. I had that briefly and I want that!! I don't want to gain the weight back waiting to be filled 10 times over 10 months so that this is achieved. Some people make it sound like if I diet and exercise and drink Water THEN the band will work. Uh sorry, what was the band for then?......obviously doing those things will maximize the results...I know that. I need the band to do it's part so I can do mine, not the other way around. Thanks for your input
  22. I get Ideal Protein, available in many chiropractors or healthcare providers offices (not doctors). They are high protein, ratio of protein to carbs is good, and taste good! BUT they are super expensive. I just couldn't find any that tasted any good in the stores, and if they did, well they weren't exactly the nutritional value I was wanting.
  23. good lord, he sounds like an idiot. Hope you have found a better doctor for your future care.....
  24. OMG you ARE busy!! My friend is making me go to the gym with her next week. (Yuck)
  25. Do you think the weight loss is due to the band or all the exercising you are doing?
