    My own friends don't notice???

Hey Abby, Funny you should mention this. Women are....unpredictable. OMG!! It would have been nice to hear a "How's it going, you look great". It wouldn't have caused a need for any further talk on the subject unless you wanted to. I choose not to think that all women are envious and that all people are hurtful. 35 pounds, inches, etc. is definitely worth celebrating. I'm sending a big southern CONGRATULATIONS your way cause you deserve it. Instead of worrying about these "friends/girls" I suggest that you draw your support from the people most willing to give it. Your DH is one of them along with the wonderful people here on this site. Never feel bad about celebrating your hard earned successes. Best of everything to ya!

    Tell me why

Tawandabee, You know what they say, something so good is worth waiting for. It does seem like a lengthy process but all I can say is that once I reached my surgery date, nothing else mattered and I forgot about all the changes I went through prior to. This really is a life changing event. It's worth all the hassle. Hang in there.
  4. Hi,

I see you mentioned being in Gulfport. I'm in New Orleans. I was banded on 1/26/09. So far so good. How are you doing

  5. Hi

I saw a post somewhere in the Doctors/Hospitals forums indicating that you were considering SCLA @ West Jefferson. Did you use that facility? I was banded there by Dr Treen in January '09. It was a flawless process and I find the support system there to be super.

I'm sure you're banded by now and

    I hope you're doing well.

Have a great weekend. It's finally dry!

  6. Hi Lady West,

Have you been banded yet? If so, how's it going?

I was banded in New Orleans on 1/26/09. I'm doing good so far. By far one of the best decisions of my life.

    Have a great weekend!

  7. Hi Punkin....

    How's it going?

I was banded on 1/26/09 in New Orleans. It's been good thus far. I'm learning as I go....

    Have a great weekend!

  8. Hi

Congrats on your surgery and success to date!

  9. Hello,

Congrats on your success to date!

  10. Hi Yetramc,

Good luck on getting your approval soon. I have Blue Cross Blue Shield Anthem and once I met the requirements: psych eval, dietician consult, letter of surgery clearance from my doc and 3 yrs. of weight verification, I was approved within a week or so of the doctors office submitting my application. When I saw that letter in the mail I screamed. Talk about make my day!

    Take care.

  11. Hey Ms Carly,

Wishing you the best of luck and relief in the near future.

  12. Hi,

Congrats on your decision to get banded. I was banded in January and for sure it was one of the best decisions I've ever made.

Hopefully your pain doesn't last long. Within 2 days after being home I no longer needed pain meds. Just be sure to take it easy and don't overdo it.

    Best of luck to you.

  13. Hi vikki...

We had the same thoughts. I turn 50 this year and said "Hell No", I will not see another birthday at this size. It's time for me to do something for me.

    Take care.

  14. Hi,

I was also banded on January 26. How's it going so far for you. I live in New Orleans.

  15. I'm so happy for you! You're doing an excellent job!

  16. Hi,

Thanks Tammya5, That sounds like a decent price. I'm hoping my friend chooses to stay a little closer to home. Thanks for the response. Have a great Tuesday!!

    Just Banded

Hi, Congrats on your band. I have a friend who wants to self pay the surgery and was considering Mexico. I was banded here in Louisiana. If you're banded in Mexico, is it easy to find a Doc in your home state for fills and other maintenance issues? Thanks in advance for your response. I love being banded. Best thing ever for me.
  21. Hello TMG,

Thanks for checking on me. I'm doing well. I'm learning to add different things to my menus as I go. It's a learning process for sure. How've you been?

  25. Evening Music,

Just cause we know better choices doesn't mean we always make them. We're still human. I'd die for the Chinese but can pass on the pizza. Don't let the guilt continue to steer you. Sh*t happens. Today is a new day. And you're right, this is an eternal battle.

My stomach is feeling really good. No problems. I'm having a lot of chicken and fish, green beans. I try to mix it up with a few new things.

Check with your Doc. They may know of a support group.

I'm sure you're glad to be home. Have a great weekend!
