  1. First off, make sure you are eating enough solid protein. That will keep you fullest the longest. Second, you can get a fill of 4.5 or 4.7. I had to go up just .03 so I wouldn't vomit. It can be done with percision.
  2. Hi There, I went in for a slight fill today and was up 5 lbs. He took me from 3.15 to 3.18. Liquids still went down okay, just a second delay. I am hoping this curves my appetite and consumption. We shall see.
  3. Jessica, it is okay to take an antacid such as Prilosec. I would start with that. It is probably because you are still a tad swollen. Typically acid, heartburn and reflux come when you are too tight. In your case, I am sure it is because you are swollen. Try not to eat too late at night as well.
  4. If you are eating 6 oz of tuna and hungry shortly thereafter you need a fill. It typically takes a few fills to get there. Good luck.
  5. Thanks Jasmine. I have gained 5-7 lbs since I got a slight unfill so we shall see tomorrow. I have probably had 20 fills and unfills in 2 years so I really have a fickle band.
  6. I am really glad you stuck up for yourself. You totally have the correct view of the band. Good for you.
  7. That is great. Keep up the good work.
  8. I think a fill will help.
  9. I would wait a week after your period to see if you are still too tight to liquids or you have heartburn. Heartburn is typically a sign of being too tight. Good luck.
  10. You need a slight unfill. He was pretty agressive for your first fill. I would go with 3ccs then up to 4 then 5.
  11. It sounds like you are swollen. I would move back to liquids for a few days.
  12. She is nuts. There is no way to freeze your band. Enjoy.
  13. That was very professional of him to call you and tell you personally. Congrats on getting your surgery this week. Julie
  14. How many ccs do you have in your band and what size band do you have? It just sounds like you haven't hit your sweet spot yet. I would get another fill.
  15. Wanda, I am sorry you went through this. I am really glad you are okay. Julie
  16. Amanda, I am sorry you are going through this alone. Do you have a surgeon support group you can join? We are here for you.
  17. I am getting discouraged. I was at 3.1 in my 4cc band and was losing pretty well. All of a sudden, it was hard for me to hold down solids and it would take me forever to sip a glass of water. So I went down to 3.0 and then I could eat like a pig and was starving. So now I am at 3.02 (2 drops of saline) and can still eat normal portions. My doctor said that sometimes the stomach lining thickens around the band so you get more restriction. So I am 17-20 lbs from goal with no sweet spot. I have flexuated the same 3-6 lbs for a long time now. Any advice? Should I just live on liquids and mushies until I hit goal?:Angel_anim:
  18. Rain, it sounds like you may be a bit too tight. You may have some difficulty losing if you get a slight unfill. I would start with .2 or .3. I have the same difficulty when I'm too tight but if I get a slight unfill I have the same 3-5 lbs that come on and off when I go back up. It could be that this is the time to decide what goal weight you want and try to eat mushies more when tight or just stay at the weight you are. Sounds like you have a fickle band like me. Good luck.
  19. WW is a good idea. You most likely will gain. Why didn't he just remove .3 or something like that. That usually helps with solids.
  20. Make sure you are getting plenty of solid protein. That will keep you fuller longer. Start your day with eggs or some bacon or sausage, followed by more protein during the day. That should help.
  21. If you have a 10cc band it is not too much. Good luck.
  22. Acid reflux can only be cured by having an unfill or medication. I would go with a slight unfill. Good luck.
  23. Congrats on getting banded. Good luck on your journey.
  24. The magic bullet is the bomb for protein shakes. Its just the right size.
