  1. Shaydee, you are doing really well. Just try and stay focused on your goal. Set mini goals for yourself. Say 10 lbs at a time or something like that. Stay on these boards as much as possible. You will get support here. Good luck.
  2. MC, I love tankinis. I wear one with a little skirt. They are super cute and seem to do the trick. You should try one.
  3. It was more like the 4th of 5th fill.
  4. In order to lose you need to have the right restriction. I can only eat 1-2 oz of meat at a time and 1/4 cup of food. I think that is perfect restriction. It took me 5 fills to get there.
  5. 1/4 to 1/2 cup of food is a good fill level.
  6. 12 days seems like a long time. I would think that if your fill were to loosen up it would have been closer to 7 days. I would go in for a slight unfill.
  7. Laura, that is really strange. Typically when you lose weight you need more saline in your band. You may want to ask your surgeon what is going on.
  8. You may find that you are swollen so you will not be able to drink as quickly. Just make sure you sip all day long and you should be fine.
  9. During my preop appointment we just went over what to expect. I believe I was weighed and a photograph was also taken of me. No biggie.
  10. Solid protein will really help you stay focused. It will keep you from snacking because it keeps you fuller fast. I must say my emotional eating has changed dramatically. I no longer binge like I use to. good luck.
  11. I agree with Jachut, I still feel that full sensation. I just eat a whole lot less. When you have good restriction you will know.
  12. You will be fine. It just shows your struggle, nothing more. I wouldn't worry about it.
  13. Try and stay focused. Eat creamy soups. They are allowed. Anything that can fit through a straw is allowed. That will keep you more satisfied.
  14. There is another form of Wellbutrin that can be cut up. That is the one I take. I can actually get it down whole though.
  15. Congrats on getting your banding date. You will love being banded.
  16. I haven't lost 100 lbs. I am down about 85 since my preop diet. I definitely feel the difference in my shoes. I am not down a size but they are looser.
  17. I see the biggest difference with the amount of hunger I had. That may be difficult for you. Eating like a bandster is like eating 1-2 oz at a time, no more. I also don't snack much. I try and stay to 3 meals a day and nothing more. Good luck.
  18. Mine was an overnight stay as well. When I checked in I asked for an anti anxiety drug so that helped. I didn't see my surgeon before surgery just the anastesthialogist. I was under for about an hour I think. The most difficult part was the tube down the throat for breathing. I had a terrible sore throat afterwards. Surgery was easy.
  19. You should be fine. Just start your preop diet when you are suppose to. I don't think 5 lbs will be that big of a deal. good luck.
  20. Do you have enough restriction? Are you exercising? Have you tried a day or 2 of just liquid protein?
  21. That doctor in Mexico has a great reputation. If you can find a good surgeon for after care I would do that. $100 for a fill is very good. Julie
  22. You should try Dr. Mckeen. I think he is out of the Salt Lake area. He is a wonderful surgeon and I'm sure he will help you.
  23. Make sure you follow your doctors orders. You can rip out your sutures if you eat too quickly after being banded. There is a reason why our doctors keep us on liquids then mushies then solids. Please follow your doctor's orders.
  24. It took me 5 fills to finally get good restriction. Keep going back for fills until you have it.
