  1. coloradobanding! the 19th is fast approaching for us... I have started a January 19th thread... for us 19thers to keep track of each other... good luck
  2. Hi Jennifer I too am being banded on the 19th... I have started a January 19th thread and I believe a lot of peeps are posting on the January '09 bansters right now... try there for updates, etc. hope you are doing well on pre-op diet (if you had to do one) We are almost there Good luck
  3. MB Congrats on the weight loss... I haven't been that fortunate... for one, I gained 6 pounds over holidays and so I had to get off 11 (for my 2%) instead of 5! I did it though in two weeks with lots of sweat and pretty much starving then one week of my shakes. I am more scared of this being another thing that I do and gain back my weight. I can't let that happen again. I hope we get to meet Monday, maybe walk the hall or something together. Talk over a teaspoon of Water? ahahaha... also, hope we can keep in touch the weeks after. Are you planning on attending support group on the 5th? I am going to try
  4. MB... I'm excited to meet you on here... I was told that there are 4 surgeries for this same date by McEwen. I report in at 7 which is 6 my time (I'm from IL and coming up Sunday to stay). how are those shakes going? I'm numb to them now.. I'm very nervous, don't know bout you... but VERY nervous:tt1:
  5. I did some updates... just testing.
  6. I'm being banded in Noblesville, IN (Indianapolis) by Dr. Keith McEwen. From all I've heard and seen, the facility is wonderful and my staff is great. I am VERY nervous and scared. The pre-op diet is going ok. I am stressed for this upcoming Saturday. I have a motorcycle club meeting (6 of us pretty much). This is being done at the Cracker Barrel. OMG... I asked my husband if we could just leave after the meeting and he says he will eat and I just can't... what support? Guess I will sip on some decaf coffee or tea. Too close to surgery date to CHEAT:mad:
  7. water only for me too... getting 6 in is sometimes hard for me... this weekend especially... my broth is sooo much better. My husband laughs and says my broth tastes like water to him. Oh my, to me it is heaven! Good Luck!
  8. I too am on Bariatric Advantage... 6 shakes a day, broth, sugar free jello and popcicles... I have been doing it since the 5th... to be honest, it was easier M-F at work. Here at home I am eating more jello and eating more broth. Luckily I can have caffeine free coffee, tea, crystal light and any other no cal drinks. The shakes weren't too bad to begin with, now, I suck them down as fast as I can... I'm almost on the downside of this 14 day diet. Surgery on the 19th. I agree the first 4-5 days are the hardest. It's not so bad now... I am numb as well to "food".
  9. I am doing the same and on day 7! I agree with the gas and the taste. Just suck it down as fast as you can. I bought one tub of each flavor and chocolate mint was my favorite and now I think it's vanilla... it is pretty gross I will agree. Maybe I will try the gas x strips too.
  10. That was a great question. I'm in the same boat. My surgery is scheduled for the 19th. I am self pay, 3 hour drive to my doctor and will have hotel expenses on the 18th. I'm glad I'm not the only one traveling so far. I have a lower BMI and no comorbities wanted one of the best doctors that would do it for me... so 3 hours of travel isn't all that bad to me.
  11. Officially scheduled now and getting nervous... I've been on the pre-op liquid diet for 6 days now. I'm just looking for others being banded on the 19th to be buddies with. Maybe chat during recovery on this site and emails. I know there are others, I've seen you! Let's do it!
  12. I am a low BMIer of 37 and I'm still required to do the 14 day liquid diet... this is day 6! My doctor requires EVERYONE to do it. So, to be honest, I think maybe it just depends on the doctor. Scheduled for the 19th!
  13. Hi Acquilla... I'm new too and being banded on the 19th as well and started my 14 day pre-op diet yesterday too how's it going so far? I'm not too bad yet, but, it IS pretty GROSS
  14. I'm more scared about the actual surgery than the aftermath... this can't be any worse than anything I've done before. I took the whole week off as well, we will have to be email buddies. Did you have to get off caffeine? I'm off it now for a few weeks and trying to lose 5 pounds before my preop class but, that isn't going very well... GOOD LUCK
  15. Hi Melissa... I have seen another few scheduled for the 19th!!! Mine as well, I'm very excited, but a little scared too. How bout you?
  16. Hi all... this is my first post... I am "penciled" in for January 19th! All depends on how everything is going at my pre-op class on the 9th. I'm getting very nervous!:smile2:
