suepro got a reaction from duckydoom in Lap Band removal/sleeve in 2 separate procedures
To be absolutely honest, when my band was removed I took very little time to heal. Felt instantly better because I was relieved of the reflux and vomiting. Back to work 2 days later.
Everyone heals differently, rest up and let your body recover.
My scar tissue is so bad that I was refused a sleeve and am getting a bypass instead.
Take care of yourself, you will heal up and when your body is ready you will get your sleeve.

I'm nearly 3 weeks out and feeling great. On the mushy eating phase at the moment which beats liquids.
Hope everyone else doing well also x

I can understand why you are worried about you your dog, you sound like an amazing dedicated owner to care for him/her to the extent of manually expressing the urine. Do you have a partner who can cope for a couple of days? My surgery now just a week away and I am leaving my two dogs in my husband's capable hands.
I'm a self payer and my chosen surgeon is a different city so I am having to stay in a hotel the night before. I'm not relishing the thought of being alone in a hotel.
I hope that you manage to make arrangements for your doggie care x

Hopefully your husband will get the knack of doing it before the date of your op. Going to another city is partly my choice of surgeon. I also need to fit my surgery around my work schedule because the Easter holiday when university is closed means that as a freelance sign language Interpreter I lose less income.
My husband will drive and pick me up and I will be in phone contact with him and a couple of close friends while in the hospital.
I have only told a few people. After my band failure, I'm keeping it low key this time. X

Hey guys...it has been a while since I posted. Life has been great. I've actually become this fitness fanatic. I love working out now...never saw that coming. My RNY changed my life and I'm so grateful. Still have a ways to go but I'm so happy with my progress. Starting weight 519lbs...surgery weight 428lbs...current weight 262lbs[emoji123]

suepro got a reaction from jnt1 in Looking for any April surgeries
Hi there, I'm near London. Yes, bands are still fairly popular over here but the sleeve is gaining popularity as well. RNY is the surgery of choice for patients with higher BMI and for people like myself who are having revision from band.

I always have clothing a size smaller that I aim to fit into again rather than simply being ruled by the scales

suepro got a reaction from numeby2017 in Looking for April peeps for RNY (Bypass)
I had my bypass on April 2nd and feeling pretty good apart from a pain in my shoulder from trapped air. My liver was fine but there were lots of adhesions from my band and the surgeon also repaired a hiatus hernia.
Good luck to everyone who is having an April operation x

suepro got a reaction from jnt1 in Lap band to gastric bypass revision info
I don't think that it was too much of a problem, the adhesions were apparently harder to sort out. My surgeon said that hiatus hernia are common in Bariatric patients.

The time I felt really nervous was when I was being put to sleep but the next thing I knew I was in the recovery area. Good luck with everything, you'll be fine.

My revision op was done on Saturday and there were lots of adhesions from my band and a hiatus hernia which was repaired.
I'm feeling quite well and incisions look pretty good.
