    Looking for any April surgeries

I'm over in England so we definitely don't live near! In Britain our sign language is totally different to ASL although I am planning to do an ASL course soon. Definitely better to only tell people who really care x Sent from my SM-G920F using the BariatricPal App I'm 2nd April x Sent from my SM-G920F using the BariatricPal App Hi suepro. Whereabouts in England are you? I'm in Perth Australia...also a long way away but lived in the UK for many years as my father is English. I think the UK was right into the gastric band, and like Australia has recently moved more towards bypass due to the higher success of bypass and dismal failure of the band as a surgical method. I think the band was really a big expensive con! Are you having the RNY or the newer Omega loop/ mini bypass? Sent from my GT-I9505 using the BariatricPal App Hi there, I'm near London. Yes, bands are still fairly popular over here but the sleeve is gaining popularity as well. RNY is the surgery of choice for patients with higher BMI and for people like myself who are having revision from band. Sent from my SM-G920F using the BariatricPal App

    Still no BM!

Me too! After 6 days I was uncomfortable so took the suppositories. What a relief afterwards, I'm now also taking a stool softener and done my 2nd BM in 10 days. Sent from my SM-G920F using the BariatricPal App

  8. I am 2 days post op and I came home yesterday. Key is to walk as soon as u feel like you can. Really wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be.The time I felt really nervous was when I was being put to sleep but the next thing I knew I was in the recovery area. Good luck with everything, you'll be fine. Sent from my SM-G920F using the BariatricPal App
  9. I don't think that it was too much of a problem, the adhesions were apparently harder to sort out. My surgeon said that hiatus hernia are common in Bariatric patients. Sent from my SM-G920F using the BariatricPal App
  10. My revision op was done on Saturday and there were lots of adhesions from my band and a hiatus hernia which was repaired. I'm feeling quite well and incisions look pretty good. Sent from my SM-G920F using the BariatricPal App
  11. I had my bypass on April 2nd and feeling pretty good apart from a pain in my shoulder from trapped air. My liver was fine but there were lots of adhesions from my band and the surgeon also repaired a hiatus hernia. Good luck to everyone who is having an April operation x Sent from my SM-G920F using the BariatricPal App

  13. Thanks for tbe info. Probably OK for people who are scared of actual surgery but I guess the statistics for for longer term success not clear yet.Hope that your sleeve is more successful for you. Sent from my SM-G920F using the BariatricPal App

Hopefully your husband will get the knack of doing it before the date of your op. Going to another city is partly my choice of surgeon. I also need to fit my surgery around my work schedule because the Easter holiday when university is closed means that as a freelance sign language Interpreter I lose less income. My husband will drive and pick me up and I will be in phone contact with him and a couple of close friends while in the hospital. I have only told a few people. After my band failure, I'm keeping it low key this time. X Sent from my SM-G920F using the BariatricPal App

    Bypass vs Sleeve

Same here, I previously had a band and the reflux was a nightmare so with the possibility of staple line leaks with a sleeve due to scar tissue and the reflux, my surgeon and I concluded that bypass is the op for me. Sent from my SM-G920F using the BariatricPal App

I can understand why you are worried about you your dog, you sound like an amazing dedicated owner to care for him/her to the extent of manually expressing the urine. Do you have a partner who can cope for a couple of days? My surgery now just a week away and I am leaving my two dogs in my husband's capable hands. I'm a self payer and my chosen surgeon is a different city so I am having to stay in a hotel the night before. I'm not relishing the thought of being alone in a hotel. I hope that you manage to make arrangements for your doggie care x Sent from my SM-G920F using the BariatricPal App
