  1. Happy 53rd Birthday Cheryl Elizabeth!

  2. Happy 52nd Birthday Cheryl Elizabeth!

  3. Good Morning Everyone: I was wondering if anyone is from St. Louis, MO and if anyone has had surgery with Washington University Physicians, specifically Dr. Chris Eagon or Valerie Halpin? Dr. Eagon will be my surgeon and I'd like to hear what the experiences have been. Thanks Cheryl Elizabeth
  4. Hi: What is the situation with prescription medications after surgery? I take a cocktail of psychotropics and the psychiatrist stated there would be no problem with the pills but I wanted to get the advice of experienced bandsters. My condition is genetic not metabolical so medication is a necessity. Thanks! Cheryl Elizabeth

    suicidal thoughts

Dear One: I'm genuinely concerned for you. It is extremely brave to admit you are having these thoughts, but I ask that you take that courage one step further and talk to your doctor, pastor, even go so far as calling 911 and telling them you are in danger. I agree with others that the banding and emotional issues that surround that may not be the best timing for you right now. Take care of yourself right now and think about surgery later. You are worth more than you know! Cheryl Elizabeth
  6. Good Evening Everyone: I've begun my journey into this world of lap banding by attending the required seminar, filling out the vast amount of paper work, PT visit, Psych eval, and my dietician and blood work are scheduled soon. I want to learn all I can about the procedure, what are the pros and cons and what I can do to have the best outcome possible. I realize this is not a diet, it's a tool and there will be a lot of work on my end but, it appears, with the right attitude, it can be very rewarding. I'd love to hear your experiences. What advice would you give a new person? :rolleyes2:
