I have failed my band - SUPPORT GROUP

I'm baaaack!!!! Hello everyone! I was on this thread a month or two ago and disappeared because of such a crazy busy travel schedule. I am ready for some more good encouragement and ideas! I've been catching up on a ton of posts and am glad to see that there are so many more people on here that we can chat with! I did have some trouble with my band and seriously over the Christmas holidays, something happened and all of a sudden I was unable to eat or drink ANYTHING. I couldn't even keep Water down! Well, low and behold, my band had slipped badly! I was so discouraged and just knew that I was going to have to have another surgery to correct it. I went back today for the first time and my band was back where it needed to be! Woohoo!!! I was so relieved! I was getting sick of all the Protein shakes and Soups I was having to drink for 3 solid weeks! I had gained about 6 pounds between Thanksgiving and Christmas but after this I lost them so I'm back at where I left off! My goals for right now are to stay on my exercise routine which I am doing well on and really track what I am eating on a daily basis. It sounds so simple so why is it so hard for us?? Ugghhh!!! Oh well, I'm staying positive and I will get good ideas and stories from this thread that I look forward to! My travel schedule has slowed down so I'll be on here on a regular basis now! We can do it everyone!!!!!

I have failed my band - SUPPORT GROUP

Good morning everyone! I'm so glad that I joined this thread and I think that we ALL are going to be successful in the end! I got started on my treadmill this weekend. It was small, but it was a start! I ended up going to work Sat morning and then did Christmas shopping Sat afternoon so I didn't get started with the exercise until yesterday. I did 20 min and then took my big exercise ball up and got it aired up to do some ab work. I've mapped out what I want to do each day so my biggest goal this week is to exercise at least 20 min each day. It's going to be tough because I have 2 Christmas party gatherings this week. I guess the good news about it is that I'm still only on soft foods since they removed my saline so that will keep me restricted! I hope everyone has a GREAT week and let's stay focused and encouraged!!!!

I agree with Tabithan IBBANDED......you have done GREAT so far! Stop at the 30 gained and go from here! As for snacking at night, I have completely removed any Snacks from my place. The only thing that I have and have found that helps me is sugar free popsicles. They take longer to eat so by the time I'm done with one, I don't really want to eat anything else. I also try to stay busy in the evenings so that I don't have much time to snack between dinner and bedtime. Good luck IBBANDED and you can do it!!!!

Tomorrow is the new beginning for me. I'm not sure how long I will last on my treadmill, but I'm shooting for at least 20 minutes! Thanks for the motivation!

Falloutgal don't give up! You, just like I did, joined this chat forum for a reason. I really think that having people like ourselves to talk to will help! I just joined yesterday and am already having a more positive outlook on my journey! I fully intend to use this as my sounding board for the good and bad stops along the way. Don't give up though because you deserve to have successful results! Tabithan, I moved the treadmill inside from my garage so this weekend the exercising begins! I'll go online to get one of those trackers like you guys have posted. By the way, how are you guys copying the quotes into your messages to show what message you are responding to? I don't have the patience to figure these things out on the computer! :wink2:

Thanks for the welcome message Kathy! My main goals at this point is to start exercising at least 3 times a week. I would like to lose 10 pounds a month but am going to start slow and set it for 7 pounds per month. With the holidays fast approaching and having to go out of town it's going to be hard to focus but I'm determined to do it! Sad thing is that my treadmill is just inside my garage so it's geting pulled out and getting a work out! I'm gonna do it and feel like I can now that I have a group of friends to get feedback and encouragement from! Thanks!

They removed all of my saline and put me on a liquid diet for a week (which was miserable because I was on vacation in NYC during this time!) and then now I'm on a soft food diet until this coming Monday. At that point they will see if the band repositioned itself or not. I can't afford another surger to correct it so I'm praying that it will correct itself and if it has then they will slowly start filling it again. I've not understood a lot of what has happened. I got a fill and then 3 1/2 week later was when I couldn't eat or drink the week of Thanksgiving. I hadn't done or eaten anything different from my normal routine and they can't tell me what would cause me to start getting sick and not being able to keep anything down. I've been a little aggravated at the knowledge (or lack of) at the place where I get my fill. I'm trying to stay positive though!

Hello everyone, I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one that is in this position. I just knew that when I got this surgery that I would be a "Results not Typical" person! Little did I know! I had surgery on Dec 26, 2007 and to date, I've lost 54 pounds. Very disappointing to say the least. I've had more trouble with the fills and have had to have ALL the saline removed and start back over on more than one occasion. The week of Thanksgiving I suddenly could not keep food or drink (not even water!) down at all and was throwing up anything I tried to drink. I went to my surgery center and found out that my band had slipped. I admit that I have eaten some things over the past year that I shouldn't have, but for the most part, I have eating habits DRASTICALLY different than I used to which is why I'm disappointed that I haven't lost more weight. I decided to join you guys in hopes that we can support and encourage each other because we didn't pay all this money to not be successful. I am going to start making small goals for myself and take the advice of measuring out my food and start exercising more so hopefully I can get on track!
