    1st fill HORRBILE!

I just had my first fill Friday and I have the 4cc band. She put in 2.75cc's first, had me wait about 5 minutes and then drink some Water and it came right back up. She went back in and took out .5cc's and left me with 1.75. She would not let me leave until she made sure that the water stayed down this time. I know that every doc is different, but in my opinion I think that every doc should at least make sure you can tolerate water before they let you leave their office!! It's been 4 days since my fill and I basically have no restriction at this point, so I'm thinking that maybe she took too much out the second time around. I'm going to wait a couple of weeks before I have more put in. I think we really just have to take it one day at a time! Good luck!!

First Fill 04/02 will it hurt?

I had my first fill this morning, and I'm going to be completely honest with you - it hurt like hell!! I have a very high tolerance for pain and it wasn't really the needle that hurt, but rather her pressing on the port to find it.. OUCH!!!

Just got first fill on Monday

I got my first fill today and I had food get stuck twice and OUCH did it hurt!!! I just slowed down and chewed my food more and kept on eating. I never felt that "full" feeling or any kind of restriction but I just stopped myself from eating. I know its only been a few hours since I had my first fill, but I was expecting to feel satisfied after a few bites. I hope that maybe my restriction will show up at some point.

    Question On Flying

I just noticed that this post showed up on this thread! Obviously it's not supposed to go here and I don't know how to remove it?? Kinda embarrassing....
  10. It's really odd that you started this thread, because I have been suffering with the same thing as you have described. I have only been on solids for about 4 days now, but my stomach has been burning like a bonfire day and night. I'm pretty sure it is the over production of acid. My mom has had the same thing and she has been on Prevacid for several months now. I hope to go to the doctor this week. Good luck to you and I hope you get good news from your biopsy!!

    Constant Stomach Ache

That's what I thought it might be. I've been taking Prilosec and it doesn't seem to be helping much. I will try the Zantac.. Thanks!

    Constant Stomach Ache

I am currently 24 days post op and began eating solids on Thursday. My problem is that no matter what I eat, my stomach hurts really bad afterward. The pain is a burning sensation. I'm not eating spicy foods and I'm not eating alot of anything, so I'm thinking this might be an ulcer. Has anybody else experienced this and does anybody have any idea what might be causing this?? Thanks for your input!

    Question On Flying

Good for you!! I am 23 days post op and I had my first unassisted BM this morning!! Yep you heard me right, I have not had a BM on my own in 23 days!! I've been taking Milk of Mag once and week and would spend the whole day on the toilet.. Count your blessings for your POO, cuz I sure know I am!!!

    Question On Flying

Flying definetely has an effect on the band, but some people experience the tightness and some don't. If you have ever taken a bottle of water onto a flight and noticed how the bottle will collapse a bit during the flight, this is what happens to your band. It is related to the pressurization in the cabin...

    Anyone else drinking while eaing?

I too am really confused by this "to drink or not to drink issue". To me, it is not natural to not drink while you eat. While I have managed to refrain from drinking while eating, it's still the hardest part so far for me. And to top it all off, without drinking while I am eating, it's really hard for me to get all of my Water in for the day. I'm so busy some days, that I can't keep a bottle of water in my hand. I wish all doctors could get together and put this issue to rest one way or the other for all of us!!
