  1. I had a fill the first of May and everything was OK. Able to eat a reasonable amount. I broke my ankle May 20 and was confined to wheelchair, had surgery and had to sit around a lot. The longer I was down the harder it became to eat. I'm now lucky to eat in the late afternoon and evening. My fill doctor was trying to tell me that I had probably stretched my esophagus. No way. I can't eat that much. I'm thinking I may need some fill taken out but he wants to do a barium swallow first (more money that I don't have). I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem. I'll print these comments and show them to him and hope he'll just take some fill out.
  2. Had surgery last Thursday (1-8) in Mexico. Everything went well. Had a very long day Sunday getting back home to Missouri. As a result, I felt like a truck ran over me yesterday. Doing better today. Always hungry though.

    Sisters!

I have one sister. She is probably 50 pounds heavier than me. She announced at Christmas that she is going to Weight Watchers (again). I'm having my surgery in two days but haven't told anyone but my husband and a friend who is a nurse. It's very private for me. My weight is an embarrassment and humiliating to me. After I have the surgery and get back home I may tell a few other friends but doubt if I ever tell my relatives. (They live in another state.) This is for me and I don't want delayed advice, comments, or sabatoge.

It is SO not a competition!

Lots of people lose a lot of weight really fast and eventually gain it all back plus more. She was mean and I wonder how much of a friend she really is. I'd congratulate her, tell her you are proud of your "slow and steady" loss and then keep communication to a minumum. Hang in there.

The day I have been waiting for!

I'm having mine on Fri. 1-9-09. I know how you feel. So many thoughts racing through my head. I keep telling myself that it is the best thing to do and everything will go perfectly. I'll be thinking about you tomorrow.
  6. Hi out there. I'm scheduled for lap band surgery this Friday (1-9-09) in Juarez, MX by Dr. Jose Rodriguez. I have 70 - 80 pounds to lose. I've been reading everything I can before I go so there won't be any surprises. Some sound good; some sound downright scary. I'm maintaining a good outlook and assuming everything will go perfectly. A few prayers every day don't hurt, right? I'm 57 years old and have been heavy since my mid-20's. I'm sick of it and hope this will be my best chance to get healthier and happier. I live in central Missouri so I have a 3 hour drive to St. Louis airport tomorrow and again when I come back on Sunday. The drive Sunday night is not too appealing.
