Fabulous February Bandsters Unite!
Wow!! I haven't been on lapband talk for a long time. I had surgery 2-11-09. I'm trying to get to the 50 pound mark, but just hover around 45 mark. I just want to be below 200 again!!! I feel like it's never going to happen. Today I went out to lunch with some co-workers and the food got stuck and after 20 minutes of agonizing pain I finally threw up, twice!!! I was concerned that my first fill was too much, but when I called the Dr. office they asked me some questions and we came to the conclusion that I may have eaten too fast. Hopefully that is the case and it doesn't happen again.

Feb 10th bandsters - How's it going
Things are going okay for me. I haven't gotten my first fill due to a up coming vacation. I'm getting really frustrated. I feel like I've hit a wall. At night, I feel as if I could eat the house! I don't know whats wrong. Hopefully, it will get better with the fills.

Lapband your first surgery ever?
I am completely with you on that. I've never had surgery and I have a huge phobia of needles. Some how I got through the surgery. I'll tell you, I was expecting the worst. Once I got home the only pain meds that I took were over the counter liquid Tylenol. I worst part for me was the gas pains, it felt like an elephant sitting on my chest. I was sore for a few days when getting out of bed and sitting up. When is your surgery date?

The pain at my port is the worst at night. I don't know why, it just is.

Hurley-Questions
I'm actually going back to work Tomorrow. I hope it goes alright, I think I'm coming down with a cold or something, probably not the best time to go back lol. The liquid does get better, all I did was open my throat and let it go down like a big shot. I've lost a total of 43 pounds, but I started before my liquid diet. Don't worry about the questions.

I'm the BIGGEST baby when it comes to pain, and needles. If I did this, I am totally confident that you will be able to do it. Good Luck!!!

Congrats!!! Follow what they tell you to do, When you are on your liquid, it's hard to get everything in that they want you to, but at the very least get in all three shakes and fruit, and fiber. Who is your surgeon??

You are not the only one who has eaten food that they shouldn't have. Technically, I'm supposed to start mushies on Wed. but I started last night. I was getting hungry and the shakes were not holding out to the next meal. I just ate really slow and stopped when I felt full. My thoughts on all of the diets is: just as long as you are making healthy food choices and have small portions. If you can get the food down comfortably then you are fine.

Feb 10th bandsters - How's it going
I was too banded on the 10th. Things are going a lot better now then the past few days. I was told I had a hard time in recovery with nausea. I've never had surgery before, so the pain was a bit high while I was in the hospital, but they gave me some good drugs. The following morning I had to drink the stuff for the x-ray and it didn't all go down like it should have, so I was there for 2 hours. That sucked, all I wanted to do was sleep.

Don't worry it does take some time. Once you get approved though, someone will call you for a surgery date. The part can go very fast. Good luck to you.

I told my mom, once I got the surgery date. She was not supportive at first, but I was telling her about how much I was loosing on the liquid diet. I've also explained to her that I understand that she doesn't agree with my decision, however, I'm an adult and I feel this is the best choice for me. It took her a little bit to get used to the idea but came to visit me while I was in the hospital.

I was banded on the 10th. Things are going good I guess. I've got some decent gas pains in my chest and my stomach is really sore and tender. Other than that, I'm good. I love going to sleep, that's when I'm most comfortable.

Just got banded yesterday
Today is day 2 for me and I've been feeling a tad better every time I wake up from a nap. The gas pains are horrible, I feel like I need to burp, but can't. My stomach feels not se good either.

February '09 bandsters?
I was banded on the 10th. everything went good i guess. Apparently I had a hard tome with nausea when I woke up, but don't remember any recovery room stuff. I barely passed the swallow test, I got the stuff down just fine but it took forever to have it go down, I had to be in X-ray for two hours. I'm finally home, and I'm pretty uncomfortable, but I'm hoping that it will subside with in the next few days.

February '09 bandsters?
The way I get my shakes down is to just suck it up and gulp it down. They taste horrible, but I've got to do this for 2 weeks and I'm on day 2.
