Displaced Va Girl got a reaction from #9grammy in Make sense?
Omg I'm in the same boat! How did this happen to me? I'm mad at myself but at the same time I don't know how I could of stopped it. I'm so uncomfortable in ANYTHING I wear, my size 18 is getting to tight and I feel so alone and humiliated. My husband is gorgeous and I know people are wondering why he hasn't left. All my friends are tiny and I hate taking photos.
I'm lucky bc I've always loved myself and I'm a bit selfish. If I could only get through jumping hoops for my insurance co. and get the sleeve so I can take care of myself the way I should have. I deserve. Second chance and so do you.
We WILL get through this, I promise!

Displaced Va Girl reacted to tsangia in pre-op jitters
I'm completely understand your preop jitters. You are soo right for doing this now! Think ahead 1year image what you will look like in your new body. You'll be healthy, wear nice cloths, take selfies of yourself because you'll be so proud of you! Do it for that person!

Yes, 4 weeks after surgery I was given the green light to return to crossfit, and any excercise.

Displaced Va Girl reacted to WhoKnows in Pilates or Yoga
I did both before surgery, and I also always found pilates to be a better work out. (I was actually in pretty ok shape for a fat chick while I was doing it, but a tendon injury in inner leg caused me to stop.)
One extra piece of advice though: while pilates is great (and yoga too, actually, if you find the right teacher), don't forget about weight lifting. Women are often so scared of getting "big," they don't lift weights. But girl, you gotta make sure you don't lose muscle post-op! Yes, Protein is important, but so is lifting! And also, just hormonally, you'd have to do some crazy stuff to end up ripped like a dude. I'm eight weeks post-op as of yesterday, I've been lifting to since week 4. I haven't stalled once, plus I can see such an improvement since I've been lifting. It's so gratifying and I really recommend it!

Displaced Va Girl got a reaction from cped1973 in BCBS of NC
Thanks guys. Sorry I've been away with in-laws for two weeks. My 6th appt is July 3rd but the receptionist hinted to me that BCBSNC is changing their 6mth rule as of July 2014. Don't hold it against me but I thought it was worth checking into.

Displaced Va Girl reacted to sunnkistme in BCBS of NC
I too have BCBS Ca. I am in month two of my 6 month supervised diet. I am right at the edge with my BMI the Dr says I must weigh my exact same weight when I go to the nutritionist and then I will need to focus on getting where I need to be. I am worried that I will go through all of this and then be denied because my BMI is too low. Right now I do not have any typical co-morbidity other than rather debilitating arthritis.

Displaced Va Girl reacted to Sleeving into success in Is Keeping The Secret Possible?
Let me try again! HAHA
I am 9 months post op and I have chosen not to tell many people. This has worked so far, because I have put a lot of effort in at my gym an with my personal trainer. You can keep this secret. If someone says something to you about the amount you eat, you can simply say your not feeling well, your husband has a nice dinner cooking, or even reject the cupcake and say that you don't want to spoil a further meal. The bottom line to remember In this is that you DON'T have to explain Anything you don't want to to anyone you don't want to.
It has only been recently that people have asked how I did it, and I reply a strict diet and a strict exercise schedule, and they are content with that !
