  1. I too am wanting food! I had surgery on 11/21 can't have mushie food until the night of the 8th day ("if I doing well"). Unfortunate for me though, my doc says "NO SLOOPY FOODS" no soup, no grits, no oatmeal, no yogurt. So soup is out of the question for me. I am SO looking forward to some egg salad Thanksgiving night though! I highly recommend you change the tv channel when food commercials come on, I was totally surprised at how mad I got last night with all the food commercials! tv is evil Good luck with everything
  2. I am on day 6, my surgery was 11/20. I too wonder the sam questions as you, what is all this gas and pain. Am I hungry or is that gas bubbles shifting around? I have found that sipping tiny sips and only drinking my liquids in 10 to 15 min incruments seems to work best. I have also learned to keep water on hand at ALL times. I went out and did some errands yesterday and I didn't think ahead, I was with out my vitamin, my shakes, and had no food on hand. I had my water, but noting to fill my hunger pains. I didn't get home until 2 in the afternoon and I learned to be prepaired. I will always carry something with me that I can eat. Hope this helps, I see we are similar in our problems and concerns.
  3. Hi! I was just banded 11/20. I know one week before Thanksgiving, what was I thinking! Trust me, it was the best thing for me. My surgery was done in Jacksonville, FL by Dr. Cywes. He is a great surgeon it took less than 30 minutes and I had a hernia he had to replace. My insurance (BCBS) made me do a 6 month weight loss program so I started my weight loss back in May. My original weight was 297 (WOW! looks much worse when typed out!). My weigh- in at my surgery date was 271, and Monday 11/24 I was 264. The weight is coming off, mostly Water weight I hear, but still the pain and nuances of my body are not fun!
