  1. I am an RN getting banded on the 24th too. Good luck. Keep in touch. I will look for your posts.
  2. Getting banded on February 24th. I'm a little nervous because I just started with a cold today. I am on day 8 of liquids. Cheated with lobster and baked potatoe two nights ago. That was my only cheat and I pray I didn't blow it. I had no idea that surgery could be delayed if my liver does not shrink enough. My surgeon or nutritionist never put that fear in me or I would not have cheated. I thought the liquid diet was to get you used to what you would be allowed to have right after the surgery. I did not understand the whole liver shrinking fully until now. I am coughing some with this cold. I am afraid what pain I will have with coughing afterward. Thank God for Oxycodone syrup.
  3. I am ready to get this over with. Anyone else doing this on February 24th?
  4. Tomorrow will be day 3 full liquid diet. Surgery is scheduled for February 24th. Campbells Soup at Hand is a savior. Especially the Classic Tomato and Tomato Parmesean Bisque are awsome. I drink V8 and generic Slim Fast. I drink Special K protein water too. I tried doing runny coco wheats but yuck...not so good. Thin maple and brown sugar cream of wheat is not bad. I am also doing low fat drinkable yogurt smoothies. I was told to drink until I was full and not restrict calories right now. I am sure I still got less than 1000 calories total. I will try and keep count tomorrow. Any other ideas would be good as I have another full week to go.
  5. This is my second day of the liquid diet prior to my surgery February 24th. The smell of food is what gets me....if I could only shut that off for a while I think I could do this. That and getting so busy that I don't eat (drink) something too long in between times. Taking something in every couple or few hours will be my key to beating this liquid thing. I have to do the clear liquids two days before banding then yum:thumbdown:....back to full liquids post op again. Thanks for some ideas given here. Especially the frozen banana in the shakes. Doesn't blending soups with noodles, rice or beans make it too pastey thick?
  6. Hello! My banding is February 24th too! Looks like we will take this journey together. I gained 10lbs from my last appointment to my preop appointment. Now I am on an all liquid diet. Figure my hey days are over but waiting will be smaller clothes and feeling more fit. I am so ready too. Good luck February 2009 bandsters! Marge
  7. Hi Tess, I am not having my surgery at St. Lukes but I am one of two people who are having our surgery done for the first time down at Wood County Hospital on February 24th. I know several people that used St. Lukes and are doing good. Are you happy with your progess?
  8. :sneaky:My surgeon and I are at odds on this test. I cannot find anything useful why he has this as a requirement for all his surgeries. Has anyone heard this test was routine pre-op? Has anyone had to have it done? I am having the lapband done in February 2009.
