    Flipped Port???

I'm not disappointed with my weight loss at all... All of my co-morbides have disappeared and I probably wouldn't have survived Leukemia two years ago and four rounds of Chemo if I hadn't been that healthy from all my weight loss. Had my ultrasound this morning and the tech didn't seem concerned about anything she saw. She thinks the next step will now be an upper GI barium swallow to see what my band is doing.

    Flipped Port???

Emailed him directly just a few minutes ago. I'm not sure if he's even getting updates from my PCP regarding all my stomach issues I've been reporting. The x-ray clearly shows it flipped and some of the blood tests have come back out of range so I sure hope so. We'll find out shortly and hope tomorrow shows what needs to get fixed.

    Slipped Band

I'm having an abdominal ultrasound tomorrow to try and figure out all the nausea and stomach aches I've been having for about a month. I also have trouble swallowing at times unless I drink with the food. My port has flipped upright for sure according to the x ray taken a few weeks ago. No idea what's going on but I'm tired of feeling like I'm going to throw up most every single day for the better part of the morning and early afternoon.

    Flipped Port???

I had my surgery Nov '08 and I knew almost immediately that the port wasn't sitting flat against my stomach. I kept pushing it down in hoped it would finally just lay flat. I've only had one fill because it hurt so bad. It took the Dr some 15 mins just to find the port and get the syringe inserted. He kept poking and poking. I haven't gone back since because it was too much pain for what I felt very little weight loss after. I just had a chest x-ray and sure enough you can see that little bugger sitting straight up at a 90 degree angle. I'm having other issues with abdominal pain and nausea which may be caused by this or the band or who knows what. I'm going in tomorrow for an abdominal ultrasound. I hope they figure it out. I'm not opposed to having surgery to correct this although I'm not looking forward to the pain and dealing with stomach surgery once again. I would hope there would be no cost either. Even though I've got an *** I still have a deductible and co-pay. Should be under some sort of warranty or something since I reported it soon after the surgery. What do you think?
  7. I'm taking the Vitaband vitamins, the new Berry flavor. I love the flavor, the watermelon made me want to barf towards the end of my 90 day supply. I'm having an issue though... two times in a row now I've been denied donating blood because my iron is too low. I'm at 12.3 and they want it 12.5 or above. I'm kinda freaked out because my iron level was more like 17 before I got banded. I talked with my surgeon and he didn't seem that alarmed. I'd love to hear from other who find the multi-vitamin is just not enough and what you do to supplement it.
  8. I guess I'm like everyone else... right where the big incision is. Looks like I've got a little alien growing in there. And boy can that sucker hurt sometimes. If I don't stand or sit straight, I slouch and there comes the pain. I can't wait for it to stop bugging me and stop sticking out. I imagine, as I was told by me doc, that would not be visible in the future. BTW, mine is on my left side, directly below my rib cage.
  9. I got banded on Nov 19th too... seems like so many people all on the same day, cool. I too am having stomach aches, but mostly from where the port got put in. Feel like a rock inside there. Best thing for me has been the pain meds they sent home with me. I know there's tons of gas in there, air trapped under the skin. Passing gas has certainly helped me too.
