  1. Did not win last night....but I had a great time. I went shopping today to look for a dress for my daughters wedding that is on March 14th. I tried on a 16 and it was baggy. That was a nice feeling. So the scale is not moving as fast as I would like it but the inches are coming off. We all have to just take one day at a time and treat everyday like a new beginning.
  2. Hello everyone I am doing good. Tonight was my poker night so I got home late. Well the scale did not move for me this week.....but I have been working out more and lifting weights. So I am not going to let the scale get me down. I am just going to move forward and see what happens next week. I do go for my 2nd fill this Friday. Have a great day everyone. Glad your feeling better China.
  3. China I am so sorry to hear that you are sick....I got sick about 3 weeks after surgery and it was not fun....especially the coughing. Just drink alot of liquids and try and get as much rest as you can. Oh yes I have gotten stuck a few times.....its not pleasant. But my doctor told me to have pineapple juice on hand and if I get stuck to take a small sip and it helps. IT WORKS. Well get well and take care. Everyone have a great week.
  4. Hello everyone how is everyone doing? I know the weight loss is slow but at least its coming off. Lets all stay on track and stay focused for this long journey together. Have a great day. Rose
  5. I totally understand how you feel. My doctor tells me that we are right on track 1-2 lbs per week. He said that we wont get to our sweet spot until we have about 6 - 7 cc in our band. I know its hard when you see everyone else loosing so much more than us. Hang in there at least its coming off.
  6. Well China I wish I could help with that questions but I had surgery years ago and those parts are gone! Glad you are all doing well. What is going on with this site. I am no longer getting email notifications? Anyone else having the same problem.
  7. Thank you so much Janet I will go to your thread and woud love to join it the conversation. Great job Tiffeny....keep up the good work. Have a wonderful day everyone.
  8. Hello everyone......glad to hear that everyone is doing well. My first fill wasy 2cc and that was on 1/24 I am scheduled for my second fill on 2/4. I am not sure if I need a fill I am having a hard time as it is eating 1200 cal in a day. I feel like I am staying full about 4-5 hours and I eat because I know I have to eat not because I am hungry. So when I go next week I will tell him all this and let him make the decision he is the doctor. I am also working out 30-40 min a day 5 days a week. Good luck to everyone.
  9. Luluc may I ask what were your symptoms of of a port infection? Were you self pay for your your surgery? Thank you. Rose
  10. Thank you so very follow your program. I hope you don't mind being a mentor to me and to others because you are true inspiration to me........I love knowing that IT WILL and CAN work. That this weight will come off once and for all. I went to the store today and made that vegetable thing you said. I am looking forward to having it tomorrow for lunch. Tonight its Catfish and eggplant. Thank you again may I ask your name so I do not have to refer to you as indiogal. Here is email address if you prefer emailing me it. mroseharvey@yahoo.com
  11. Great job Laurel......keep up the good work. You will notice a difference with having some fluid in the band. May I ask how much do you want to loose total? I have a 10cc band and now have 4cc in it. I go for my next fill 2/4. Good luck my doctor told me to stay on liquids the day of my fill and mushys the next day.
  12. Thank you IndioGirld for taking the time and sharing your meals with me. Well I have to admit that I am eating pretty much what you are. So that makes me very happy. Thank you again. And your right....I will DO this. Was your weight loss about 1-2 lbs per week or was it more? May I ask what kind of exercise you do and for how long? You are true inspiration to me. Rose
  13. Hello Florida Pete how did your first fill go? So how much do you have in your band now? Did you travel to Mexico to get your fill? Great job on th weight loss. You are a true inspiration. To so many of us. Rose
  14. Thank you so much IndioGirl for the information. WOW you have done a great job. I am very very happy for you and I hope I am as successful as you. If you don't mind sharing can you give some meal guidance.
  15. Auggies, I know how you are feeling I feel the same why sometimes. But than I will eat something and it gets stuck and I realise I do have a band. We have to remember it did not take us 6 weeks to gain our weight. It is going to be slow (slower for some people). I keep thinking about what my doctor told me that most people dont start even loosing until they have 7cc in there band. So be grateful for what ever you loose until you reach that sweet spot. Lap Band it a slow process but if we choose the right foods and amounts it does work. I hope this helps. Rose
  16. Good luck everyone with your fills. I am definately feeling the restriction. I just hope the weight starts coming off. There are days I get discouraged when I look at everyone elses numbers.
  17. Hello Michelle and Tami I am also in Riverside and got banded on 12/15/08 by Dr. Coon. I am doing ok. Just seems like the weight is coming off alot slower than so many other people that I read of this thread I wonder if I am doing anything wrong. I am eating between 1200 and 1500 cal a day. I am working out about 30 min a day. Any advice?
  18. Good luck to all of you on your fills next week. I do feel more restriction now than I did the actual day that I got the fill. I have stepped up my work out alittle to an hour a day. I am just feeling so much more energy than I ever did before the surgery. I had some tuna today and it did not go down to well. That might be a no no food for me. I will wait awhile and give it another try.
  19. Hang in there China sometimes you loose inches and not lbs. and remember that if you are working out muscle weighs more. Hang in there and stay focused and on track.
  20. Doing well today today I did not make the best food choice for dinner. I was tired and picked up KFC for the family I had a pience of thigh, 1 spoon of mac and cheese and 1 spoon of mashed potatoe. Not the best food but I did work out on my treadmill for 25 min. Tomorrow I will do better. I try and only weigh myself once a week so I will give you all an update on Monday.
  21. Everyone have a great day. I woke up this morning and I do feel the restriction alot more today than I did yesterday. I go for my next fill on 2/4. I just love not getting hungry.
  22. Well I have to be honest since my fill today I am so much more hungrier than I usually was.....maybe its just in my head.
  23. My doctor told me that most patients don't notice much restriction until 7cc are put into the band. It is a slow and steady process. Too be very honest I don't feel a big difference with my first fill.
  24. Great job Gus Gus.....wow that is so amazing. You are an ispiration to all of us just starting out. I just went for my first fill today 4cc in a 10cc band. I go for my next fill in 2 weeks. I am looking forward to a positive outcome like yours. I am from Riverside/Lake Matthews. Its nice to find some locals.
  25. Hello Laurel and China well I went in today to see my doctor and get my first fill. The day of surgery he put in 2cc and today he added 2cc so I have 4 cc in a 10cc band. He did not have to numb me to do the fill it did not hurt at all. He made me sit up drink some water, everything went down well so I could leave. I have to go back in two weeks. He said to stay on liquids for today and mushy tomorrow. He said that I would not feel good restriction until the band is at 7cc. So I have to be patient. Have a great day ladies.
