  1. Hi, well I have had my band for nearly 2 years and the weight is just about gone, but last weekend, I started having extreme pains in my chest and then my entire throat started to swell...well it has been several days now and the swelling in the back of my throat has gone down, but I am completely unable to get things down, even liquids are trial and error...i wouldn't be that worried about it, but my mother's band was removed in the er b/c she passed out at work and could barely breathe and they told her that her that her band had slipped up into her chest! I would go have it checked out, but I live half a world away from my doctor, literally, I live in Asia and he lives in North America...also I am afraid that my band will be removed...has this happened to anyone and if so, did you just go back to the post-surgery diet of liquids, then mushy foods...I am just afraid that my band is up in my chest.....
