trying to conceive with pcos
Hi my name is Sara and I am 32 almost 33. I have been ttc for almost 4 years. We did a round of clomid before my surgery but then decided to go on the pill and regulate my cycle and get some weight off. My one year bandiversary was on 2/6/10 and I have lost a little over 100 pounds. Before surgery I was 348 and now I am about 240. My doctor (reproductive endocrinologist) just gave us the ok to start trying I came off the pill in january and have been regular and ovulating every month, So in April we are doing the clomid with an hcg injection and an iui. I am so hopeful that this will be the month. Baby dust to everyone and hang in there it's worth it and it does happen!!!!

PCOS lap-band, what weight to start trying at??
Hello all I was banded on 2/6/09, I weighed 345lbs before my surgery and am down to 250! I'm 5'10 so I'm still above where I should be. The whole reason I got the band besides to get healthy was because of my PCOS and the fact that my husband and I want a baby so badly. I'm 32 years old and don't want to wait that much longer. I'm currently on birth control and am just wondering about other peoples PCOS banding stories. I have an appt with my endocrinologist on Jan, 8th to come off birth control and am hoping to start clomid in March. How long after stopping the pill did any of you get a BFP? Any stories would help! Thanks

Lunch with Dave, I'm so FRUSTRATED!!!
Ugh I hate it when people comment about things they just DON'T get. Nobody that doesn't have the disease of obesity can understand what a frustrating process it can be, lose than gain lose than gain, feel bad about yourself=eat. My husband wishes he could have fixed everything that was broken inside me but I had to be strong enough to get this band and fix myself. The people who are banded are not weak, we are the strongest of the srong because we took a stand and are fighting for our health. You have done an amazing thing don't let anyone ever make you second guess it. God bless and good luck healing!

God bless my lap band
So as I was rushing to get dressed this morning I looked in the mirror and of course just started mentally listing my complaints. I carry most of my weight in my upper waist so I look like I have a spare tire there. Granted it had gone from a full size truck tire to a small donut looking tire but still I hate it. So as I was putiing my size 18 pants on I tookk a moment to say a quick thank you to god and my surgeon and my friends and family. Back in January when I was still weighing in at 348 pounds I would have traded my left arm to be in an 18 pant and to weigh 266 (this mornings weight)! I'm 5'10 and must say I look so much different than several months ago I'm going to start savoring every weight along the way. I will NEVER be the weight I am right now again in my life because every day I work at going in the right direction, but it took alot of sweat and tears to get here so I am proud of it spare tire and all god bless 266 pounds and dropping! Have a fabulous day everyone Sara!

Pcos
PCOS is the main reason I have had the lap band surgery in the first place. after a failed fertility treatment I along with my husband and endocrinologist decided losing weight to get my pcos under control was the smartest thing to do. After alot of research the lap band just seemed the best choice. I have lost 80 pounds since the secoond week in January 09 so in a little over 4 months. I weigh 268 now and am 5 ft 10. I have noticed a completely regular period since getting the band and my blood pressure has gone from 159/90 to 122/78. The band was the best thing I have ever done in my entire life I'm going to try and get pregnant in March of next year it will be just after a year for me then and I will go off the pill. Hopefully I will get my weight down to about 200 by then. Good luck to you!! Any other questions just ask.

6/16/09 Fill 'er Up!
good for you! My DR does it different though I had my surgery on 2/6/09 and had my first fill 6 weeks after so 3/16 (I think) They gave me 2cc I already had 3 in my band so that put me at 5 no real restriction. I was told to wait 2 weeks and 2 weeks to the day I went back and got .8 cc's almost at 6 felt a little restriction but not alot so exactly 2 weeks later I went back they couldn't find my port so I had to wait a few days but then I got my fill and went to 6.8 and I feel great have had good restriction for the past 3 weeks. Just keep at it and be your own advocate if after 2 weeks you feel nothing go back!! Good luck

Dr. Renee Wolff - Anybody out there????
I was banded by Dr Cobean on 2/06/09. All in all from my orientation to the surgery process took 7 months. I am incredibly pleased with my results since the surgery I started off heavier than most females (I think) I weighed 348 at my first appt 325 at my surgery date and am down to 268 today 6/14/09. I have 6.8 cc's in my band and had the last fill under fluroscopy cause they had trouble accessing my port. I am going to miss Sharon the nurse who usually does the fills so much! Anyway good luck to everyone out there! Hope it stops raining lol..

help me..help me..please..everyone..wei ght loss tips!!!!
I had to drop weight quick (15 pounds in 2 weeks) before my surgery cause i waited so long to get started and while I don't recomend it cause it is such a quick fix it definitely worked for me. I got the hollywood 48 hour miracle diet at wal-mart and dropped 8 pounds in 2 days then went really low calorie and no carb for the remainder it came off but if I hadn't gotten the band right away it all would have come right back. Good luck
