You'll be fine...just stay within your calories and drink all your water and you'll be great on Monday. Just wear the LIGHTEST clothing possible and bring socks if you're wearing sandals or you'll have to weigh with shoes on and that SUCKS. It happened to me and the dumb shoes added .8 lbs! Yeah, I'm hoping to be at goal plus another pound to account for my clothes when I go do my final weigh in by next Friday. It'll have to be a 3 lb week AND I'm supposed to start my period TODAY! It will be tough but hopefully I can do it. I'd love to have a CM appt within a couple weeks from next friday.

I had the same problem with weight lifting too. We have a universal weight machine in the garage and I did it 3 times/week and gained 2 lbs. I'm sure that's a good gain, seeing as it was probably muscle building, but I don't have time for that! I wanna get to goal!! So I'm just doing lots of cardio and some resistance band stuff and saving the weights for after surgery.

That can happen if you've been retaining water. Strangely enough, the more water you drink, the less you retain. Maybe you've upped the water in the last week and it's finally caught up with you...either way, YAY!

First, I just have to correct you all on my name...it's ChristinE, not ChristinA. It happens all the time in real life too, lol! Liz said at orientaion that it's not based on a generic 10%, it's strictly up to the surgeon (NOT the cm) based on your body shape. She said that it's almost always 10% but can be more or less. My required surgery goal is 9%...close enough! I'm still gonna ask my surgeon about why he specifically said he'd waive the 2 pre-op classes. His words were "You're doing very well so far and I think you're gonna make great progress, so I will waive those 2 classes, you're on track and won't need them." I don't know what else to say about that...that's just what he told me. I can't imagine it's the first time he's ever told a patient that, and if he's said it before I'd assume that's what happened, otherwise the CM would've told him he can't waive those classes.

Hey girls, I'm still here but have just been super busy lately. I'm still losing a pretty steady average of 3 lbs a week and have lost almost 24 lbs since 12/1. I'm only 3.4 lbs away from my surgery goal! I'm hoping to have my CM appt in a couple weeks and am crossing my fingers that Dr. Fisher is booking only a couple weeks for surgery....that would ROCK! I'm totally ready to have another lunch date! I'm available almost anytime, so lets try to plan one soon...maybe next week?

C'mon Reggie...get back up, dust yourself off and start over again! You can do it, you are a strong deserving woman! I get the munchies before my period too but since orientation I've tried really hard to make those munchies be something like fruit or veggies or sometimes 4 M&M's...but only 4! I know you can do this, it seems like a long road to goal but it will get there and it will be so awesome to have a headstart before surgery with 30-ish pounds down! I just told my hubby tonight that I thought I'd never get to my goal and now I'm so close I can taste it! And it's only been 7 weeks! Would it help to have an accountability partner? I'd love to be there as a team and we could check in via email or phone once a day and make sure we're both still on track. We can make sure we're both working out and eating well. Let me know if you want to do that. Let's do this girl! (((hugs)))

Riley, (and anyone else that's had a CM appt) did you bring a food journal with you? Are we supposed to?

Kaiser Richmond Pre-op
Thanks for the advice, Riley! I actually am kickin' butt already and am just excited to get to goal. I've lost 21.2 lbs in 7 weeks which is an average of 3 lbs a week...not too shabby! I also am journaling everything I eat and my workouts including how long and how many calories burned via my heart rate monitor. I love that thing! I just finished a turbo workout and burned 675 calories. I did 20 minutes on the bike and 60 on the treadmill. I'm gonna hop on the tready later tonight and walk during the 2 hours of biggest loser, but probably not at as much of a hard pace. I'm going with Nicole tomorrow for her CM appt and am going to do a weigh in at the bariatric dept. I was 291 the last time I was weighed there so it'll be nice to see at least a 15 lb difference, maybe more!

OMG this is all so exciting! I'm so proud of everyone here...we're kickin' butt! It's great that they're scheduling surgeries only 3 weeks out right now, I hope that's the case when I get my surgery date. I've only got 6.6 lbs more to lose and then I'll be at goal. YIPPEE!

I started a YouTube video channel! Did YOU?
Yay! I watched your video today but didn't make that connection that it was you until just now. I just put up my second video tonight. I'm gonna try to do a weight in update every Thursday and maybe one or two more during the week if there's anything relevant to share. I'm excited! This will be so fun.

Congrats on your surgery! Did you have RNY or Lapband? I'll have to check out your blog, and YES! Upload those videos girl, I wanna see 'em! You're doing great, keep up the good work.

I started a YouTube video channel! Did YOU?
Since deciding to have Lapband surgery and starting the process of appointments and pre-op weight loss, I've been having a great time doing research and reading lots on this message board and watching YouTube videos. I was so surprised to find that there is such an active weight loss surgery community there. I decided that it would be fun to start my own channel to document my weight loss journey. It'll keep me motivated and will also be so awesome to see my progress once I have surgery, lose weight and reach my goal. If anyone here would like to check it out, here's the link: YouTube - swish's Channel If anyone has their OWN channel, will you post the link? I think it would be so fun to keep up with eachother's progress and help keep eachother motivated!

I commented on your other post too, but have you been following the 1200 calorie diet or started the process to lose any pre-op weight? The good news is that if you're losing the weight, by the time you meet with the surgeon you could probably be at pre-op goal and the time from that appt to surgery could be very quick!

Kaiser South San Francisco
Have you called them to see where you are at in the process and when you can expect to have an appointment? That is crazy...makes me think they lost your info or forgot about you. I'm sorry...that must be so frustrating for you.

Kaiser Richmond Pre-op
Oh that's so disheartening, Laurel. I'm sorry it's been so long for you. So you've gone to orientation but still haven't received an appt since then? Maybe you should call and see if they've lost your paperwork or forgotten about you, that happened to someone on this board. Have you lost any pre-op weight during the last 4 1/2 months? It's nice to meet you! Hope you stick around.

My appt with Dr. Fisher (my surgeon) was pretty quick and painless, only about 15 minutes. I thought I'd have to have a gown on so he could feel my stomach or something but he didn't examine me at all! It was easy. He told me I could sit on the exam table or the chair...I chose the chair. We talked about both surgeries, he asked which one I wanted and why, he agreed that Lapband was best for me and told me I needed to get down to 270 and then he would schedule me for surgery. I didn't have many questions for him, only a couple. He was really nice and patient and I feel very secure with him being my surgeon. Good luck at your appt! I can't wait to hear how it goes. Who is your surgeon? Has has this process gone for you so far?

That's great news for your friend! How long has she been waiting to get the case manager appt? I hope she's still at goal and gets in for surgery soon. Keep us posted on her or better yet...send her over here to talk to us! I hope it all moves quickly for all of us!

We wondering if you were going to show up and were talking about how we don't know your name! What's your name and what are these random letters that make up your username all about? We'll definitely do it again, I want to do it soon!

We had some people leave at ours too. There were about 75 people there because they had cancelled the previous one. About 20 people left at the break, I was totally surprised.

Forgot to ask...did you wear your heaviest clothes?

Kaiser Richmond Pre-op
Great news, Reggie! I'm glad you got there safe and on time. Wow, 4:30am? I bet you were nice and early! Did anyone walk in with Starbucks cups? Yeah, people ask some really stupid questions...I was surprised by it too. People just couldn't get over the idea of NO ALCOHOL, they kept trying to find loopholes. It was really funny, but kindof annoying. What surgeon was there today? I hope you get an appointment really soon!

It definitely sounds like you're in need of a fill! Hopefully you'll get nice and tight again and the weight will start falling off again. Who does the fill? Is it your surgeon or a nurse?
