Hi, I hope you do get approved without having to jump through too many hoops. I would make sure that the Dr - writes everything down. I had high blood pressure - but was not taking meds. So they said it was untreated and I believe that was what got me denied the first time. I had my BP and my weight monitored for a week. I MADE the Dr give me a HP pills and I have resubmitted my letter. I have been waiting for ove 60 days on this second appeal. The first one I got back in less than a week. I believe the more they know about you the first time the easier it will be. Make sure if there is anything wrong with you it is in your records and writen in the letter that they submit to Tricare. I will also say a prayer for you. When you submitted your appeal did you have to resubmit it to a different place. The first time I was denied I submitted my paperwork to AZ. When I turned my appeal in the second time I had to send it to Colo. I have been informed that they have NO timelimit to respond to the appeal!! So I could wait 3 months to a year!!! I have been waiting 3 months now!! I hope they go quickly for you.

Did you send your package back to the first people who denied you or did you have to send your package to a different place?

I looked at the weight chart - and if you are 13 pound light then that means that they want you to be right in the middle of the "medium" weight limits or higher. I was denied - they did not even tell me why. So I went crazy and documented everything. Then I had to send the infor to Aroura Co. - these people have not turn around time, no requirements to contact you or even update your status. So I have been waiting for almost 2 months - with no indication one way or the other!!! I hope you do not have to deal with them!!!!

All it stated was factual deniel. So I guessed that either I was under weight ( I was right in the middle of the medium section for being 100 lbs over weight) or that I my meds for high blood pressure was not documented. So I had them record my weight and BP for a week - had my Rx refilled and resubmitted. It has been over 30 days and I still do not know anything new!!!

I think they do come up with their own obstacle course!! I had a friend in GA - she asked, when to a phys. eval and was baned with in a month!! Our BMI and comorbities were the same and I got denied!!!

The letter is the appeal - I think. I wrote a letter and then also went and got my weight and blood pressure checked for a week and sent that in also. It has been over 30 - and still no word. So I am not sure if I did it correctly.

It was a factual deniel - I guess it means that I did not meet the requirements. Nothing else was stated. I was kinda left hanging. I did get an e-mail from someone at Triwest - and they could not figure out why I had been denied either - by looking at the requirements and was told to appeal.

Going by the chart I am 100 pounds over weight!! I am medium frame, so at 247 that puts me over wieght for even a large frame woman. The reg states that they have to add 100 pounds to both the upper and lower end of the weight chart. Unless I am reading it wrong!!!

Hi, I started this process at the end of July! I thought I had dotted all my "i's" and crossed all my "t't" BUT I still got denied. I am 48, 5'6", 247 pound, high blood pressure and colestral(400+) on meds for both, and have been recommended for back surgery because I have degenrative whatever! I was turned down in a matter of days by the people in Arizona. I got my paper work back and sent it to Colorado - after they had my package for 2 weeks they finally sent me a letter stating that it was on someones desk. Now that has been over 2 months! So I figure I have 30 more days to wait to get my - third deniel!! C
