    We have to remember - if we lost weight easily we would not have opted for this surgery! We all have our weeks that we will lose, gain or stay the same. We have taken the first step - now we just have to remember that we are eating less, we are exersizing, we will lose weight. Hang in there!

    Good morning everyone - I lost ONE pound. I am down to 211 - After a fill I thought I would lose more quickly - but as long as I am loosing I am happy! I hope you all did will this week. My kids think I need to do more - so my summer vacation is starting to sound more like boot camp: walking 2 miles everyother day, palaties 2x/week, weights and sit-ups 3 times a week - I can't wait to go back to school! (Oh yeah I am also swimming everyday that it does not rain!) Again - hope you all are losers!

    HI - Hope everyone is reaching their goals - no matter how slowly they are going. I only lost 1 lbs this week - but hey is it still a loss! I got my first fill yestarday - I have to admit I was a little scared - I hate needles! He gave me 4 cc. He did not numb me - so yes it did hurt - but I did not die! I could barely drink water yestarday - this morning my morning coffee whent down fine so I had a scrambled egg w/cheese! I should have not had the last bite or so - I am very full! Hope everyone is doing well, I will keep moving so the scales will keep moving.

    Sarah - you will get there - I believe I just got out of banders hell! I did not lose for 3 weeks - so I varied my walk a little. I walk 1/2 my regular walk at a nice pace. The other half of the walk - i vary my walking speed between light poles - really fast then slow.... I lost 3 lbs this week! So hopefully this little trick will help you too. I got a new scale - it measures weight, bone mass, BMI and hydration! The hydration thing is cool - because it lets me know if I am not drinking enough through the day. Remember we are all doing well - because we are trying and these posts keeps us on the right track. Starting Weight on new scale 217 This Friday 213!!! Good luck everyone, I get my first fill this Thursday! I hope it does not hurt, I hate needles!

    despearate need of help!!!!

    I bought two plates - one a relish plate - pretty crystial, 3 small portions and another a bright pink plastic plate also with 3 small portions - I agree making a small plate of food is better because you don't want to waste food. I stepped up my walk - just quicker no longer. I have lost 3 lbs!!!!!

    I had Dr Monash also - May 26th. Have you had your first fill? If so how much? How much have you lost...... I lost 15 lbs right off the bat - now after 3 weeks I have finally started losing again - 2 lbs.

    despearate need of help!!!!

    Hi, I lost weight right off the bat - 15 lbs. It has only been three weeks - but I have not lost a things sence! I am not hungry - I never feel full or empty! I drink my 60-70 oz of water a day - I walk 2 miles everyday and still nothing! I can't emagine being a year out and not losing any more - I am with you I worked to get this surgery - and yes my kids and husband are in awe that Ihave not lost any weight! I don't know what I am doing wrong. I am sad.

    By what I have read - I am just not going to lose anymore weight until I get my first fill - which truely makes me sad. I was so pumped to lose 15 pounds right off the bat - now I am back to the same old stuff as before the band. Counting calories - wieghting in with no lose.... I was just hoping there would be more. At least I am not gaining!

    Wow - is that a normal thing? Will the restriction finally make me lose weight? I feel like I am not eating anything and I am still just staying put no gain no lose!!! You are doing great! Yes I am jealous!!!!

    May 28th Anyone??

    My dr's office has recipes - I think it is some kind of exchange service - I am just trying to cook for my family (two teens and a hubby) so that they get every thing they need and I get every thing I need. I still seem to need the shakes to make sure I get enough protien. I guess in a way I am following the zone - and in the book it has a lot of good meals - high protien moderate carbs.

    I do not have any problem eating small amounts of food - I simly am not hungry. My main concern is that I drink too much - I know liquids are suppose to go through quickly - but will it affect the size of the pouch if I drink regular drinks instead of sips? Last night I made tuna cassarol - I fixed it like normal and then put a small scoop of tuna in one corner - then topped the whole thing off with cheese. I ate the corner and it was soooooo good! I love to cook. Tonight I am going to have a stuffed mushroom and about 3 bites of grilled to prerfection T-bone!

    I am suppose to be on "real" food - but I still have shakes for breakfast and lunch. I try to eat a very tiny regular meal at dinner. I bought a couple of very nice - very small plates that have sections in them. I do not have to measure I simply put a small portion of meat, veggies and sour cream or cottage cheese in the three sections = about 1/4 - 1/3 cup. I haven't finishe a full plate yet. I agree I do not want to over eat ever again!

    I only eat about 1/4 - 1/3 cup at a meal. I feel full for quite a while. I will get my first fill on the 25th - tell me how it is - I am terrified of needles!

    Hi, I was banded on the 26th. I started at 230, lost 15 lbs in about 8 days. I have not lost or gained a pound sense!! I will check in on Friday. Is it normal not to lose any weight?

    No - she crushes them! About the gas - WALK - WALK -WALK. Even if it is just around the dinner table!! I try to walk at least 5 minutes every hour or so plus about 30 min. first thing in the morning. My dr. from when I had my gualbladdder remover recomend this - I have not had gas with either Lapo. surgeries!!

    Hi, I had a friend that went through this a year ago - she added B-complex and Biotin to her diet and her hair stopped fall out within about two weeks her hair looked great. I had problems with the slimfast too - I switched to the EAS shakes. No more problems. I also am finally drinking 60 - 70 oz or fluids - every day and I am back to normal as far as energy goes.

    I am a teacher too! I had my surgery 3 days after the last day of school and I am glad! I did not think it would be a easy as everyone said! I took it easy and now I am back at 90% but Ihave 2 months to lose weight - and I can wear shorts and baggy t's. Hope you can rest during the summer.

    I did not get banded on the 28th - I beat you by one day! I think I am doing realy well now. I have lost 15 pounds so far and I have my check up tomorrow. Do we get a fill this early?
  25. Well you have step one done! You get to see the specialist. You now need them to say that you are at least 100 pounds over weigh, have one co-morb (high blood pressure, diebetic...) and have a body/bone structure that truly means you are over weight! I got to see the speciallist - in July. He sent in the paper work that said I was 100 pounds over weight and had high blood pressure, high cholestral and lower back problems. He forgot to mention that I was 5'8" and had a medium body frame so I was denied! EVERYTHING MUST BE ACCORDING TO THE REGULATION!!! If not they will make you appeal - the appeals take longer than the regular visit. Hope this helps, Mel
