  1. Hi, I'm being banded on 3rd February and need to be back at work for new computer programme around 9th February. I work 4 hours each morning in an Office. I'm wondering if I'll be able to manage it.
  2. Are you able to name your surgeon?
  3. Does anyone not like vegetables? I only eat potato, pumpkin, peas, corn and carrot. Hate green leafy veges. Also don't like fish or chicken. I hope I'll be able find plenty of stuff to eat after I'm banded!!
  4. Hi, I had a tummy tuck after losing 8stone 15 years ago. At the time it was covered by private health insurance except for the gap which could be quite a bit by now. Then it was $750. It was the best thing I ever did. My clothes and swimmers all looked great with a "straight" stomach, ie no apron. I have been silly and have put nearly all the weight back on and now I've decided to get banded. But still the tummy tuck was worth every penny.
  5. My dietitian said I can go on protein only diet before being banded. i.e. meat, eggs, fish, chicken only but definitely no carbohydrates as your liver needs to become floppy so the surgeon can move it out of the way for a minute. Carbohydrates i.e. bread, rice, pasta etc bulks up the liver.
  6. Thank You MartiXLardy. Told my boss yesterday and she was quite negative as we know a person who did all the wrong things after the operation and messed things up but having witnessed that person's behaviour I know how important it is to follow the dietitian's directions explicitly afterwards. She also hates me having time off work.:rolleyes2:
  7. Hi, Just made the decision to get banded. 57 years old and fat for most of them. Have an appointment with Dr. Copp for 4th December. At this stage it looks like I'll have to wait until February or March as I have heard the APRA are taking 8 weeks to approve super payments now.
