You aren't the only one, Ms. M. I went to my seminar on November 4th, and I was hoping to get approved for surgery before the end of the year. That didn't happen. It has been a case of "one step forward, two steps back" for me. Went to the seminar, had to wait a few weeks for appointments with my doctors to talk with them about writing me referral letters. Got that done, then found out I had to get clearance from a pulmonologist. Had that taken care of, but their office had trouble faxing the report to the right number at the surgeon's office. They finally got it, and supposedly faxed off my paperwork to insurance. Almost three weeks later, I find out that insurance never got it because the fax number was old. It's very frustrating, but I just try to remember that it will happen.

That one drives me crazy. I am definitely not parent material, I guess, because I just want to yell, "Shut your effing kid up!" You should go to this site. It is basically a place where workers can bitch about the horrible customers they've had. Yes! I am really sensitive to odors and I have asthma, so people wearing too much perfume can literally make me sick. I have another peeve that I just thought of: People not flushing the toilets in public restrooms. Even the electronic toilets have manual flush buttons, so it really gets my goat when you are at the mall or movie theater and have to go from stall to stall to find one that has been flushed.

One of the problems is that when I've called, I keep getting transferred between the insurance company and the underwriter, and neither knows what the other is doing. I don't know which one is responsible for doing certain steps, and the insurance company and underwriter both claim that the other is responsible.

So how are diseases a result of our "free choice"?

On the board, one thing that really bugs me is when people type their posts in ALL CAPS or capitalize Every Single Word! I can't even read it, so I usually just skip their posts.:phanvan

Yes, yes, yes! The buggies bother me, especially when they are maybe two or three spaces down from the corral. My dad is a veterinarian, so I have been raised around animals my whole life. I whole-heartedly agree with you on this point. If you can't have them spayed or neutered and fully vaccinated, you shouldn't have an animal, no matter how cute it was in the store. It really bothers me to see people buying animals from a pet store, also. 95% of the time, those animals are not healthy and are being sold for a whole lot more than they are worth. One of my dad's clients bred some puppies and sold them to a pet shop for $50 each. It wasn't long before another client came in with one of those same puppies, and they had paid $700 for it.

Grammar and spelling mistakes definitely peeve me. I am in graduate school right now and it amazes me that some of my classmates still write the way they do. When doing group projects, I have been known to take the supposedly finished papers away from the group leader and re-edit them myself. I keep thinking, "We are in college. It's time you learned to construct a proper sentence, to use the correct punctuation, and to learn how to use the spell-checker function on a computer." If I didn't re-edit some of these papers, I would be ashamed to put my name on them.

Don't forget that we have recently been releasing some of these so-called "terrorists" from our prisons. If they are undeniably guilty, why would they be released?

Well, I am waiting on insurance to approve me. If you are interested in what's holding everything up, you can see this thread. I am hoping to be banded in March, though, if I can be approved in time. Famous last words, huh?:faint: If I can swing it, I'd like to be banded during the week of March 5th. That is the week before my spring break, so I would be able to take 2 weeks off.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. If you support the war in Iraq, you are pro-war, even if you are just "pro-war-in-Iraq". No one has given any standards for winning, though! You can not win a war against terrorism. There will always be terrorists. You can not win when you don't know what "winning" is.

The financial counsellors at my surgeon's office supposedly faxed my paperwork to insurance over two weeks ago. I got an email from Tonya, on of cousellors, saying that they would check every week to see what the progress was. I sent one of them an email on Monday, asking how everything was doing. I got an email today from her. She said that she had called AVMA (the insurance company) today, and they said that everything would have to go to First Health (the underwriter of the policy). So she called First Health and was told that the fax number she had sent everything to was old and that she needed to resubmit. Um, shouldn't she have found this out when she supposedly called them last week? According to her first email, she was going to call them every week until they made a decision! Not to mention the fact that the financial counsellors apparently don't know what each other is doing. I had gotten an email a couple of days before Tonya's, from another of the counsellors, saying that she had sent everything off and had gotten a confirmation fax from the insurance company!

To be honest, I feel this way about many Christians. Don't get me wrong, I don't think all Christians stick their heads in the sand, but I truly think some do. I really think that some Christians are so obsessed in their belief of "a better life after death" that they ignore the life they are living now. As an Atheist, I believe that the only life I will live is the one I am currently living, so I better make the most of it. So, to turn your statement around, I believe that some Christians will have to look back on the lives they've lived and the opportunities they turned their backs on, and they will regret it. So I guess my point is that whether you are a Christian or an Atheist, you need to live life to the fullest.

I think a reason that many people don't like Hillary is that they think that women should always be quiet and graceful and blend into the background, like Laura Bush. They don't like strong women that are vocal about their beliefs. I have heard a lot of people say that she is too "mannish" for them. I personally don't understand what's "mannish" about standing up for what you believe. To be honest, I don't know that I would vote for Hillary if I had to choose between her and some of the other Democrats that would possibly run against her. If I had to choose between Obama and Hillary, I think I would choose Hillary, just because Obama hasn't quite gotten enough experience yet. If I had to choose between Hillary and Senator Joseph Biden, Biden would win. But if she wins the Democratic ticket, I will vote for her. Better Hillary than a Republican, I say.

Of course it is. I don't know anyone who blames him for everything. But I do think we can blame him for a worsening situation. Do I also blame Congress for allowing him to do basically whatever he wanted? You bet. I think most of the U.S. did too, which is why the Democrats now have both houses. I think people are tired of sacrificing soldiers and their rights for a situation that isn't getting any better.

I don't know too many liberals who are in favor of the Patriot Act, or anti-gay marriage, or anti-choice, or anti-freedom of speech, or.... Well, you get the point.

This thread is 6 days old. I've posted in other threads. I'm sure you've posted in other threads. Ron could have posted in other threads if he really wished to. He didn't. He apparently preferred to post spam and then abuse the beliefs of other members. In fact, he's had time to make an average of 17 posts a day. To this single thread! And no one is forcing anyone to read it.

And again, it wasn't because he asked a question. Read what he said again from the point of view that you aren't a Christian. Or, you can imagine that he is a Muslim talking to a Christian. Then see if you don't think he was condescending. Ron is a newcomer only in that he hasn't been posting for long. He isn't here to give lap-banders support or receive it from them. This is his very first thread, and this is the only thread he has posted in. His only action has been to post trollish email spam.

That is what happens in SOME Muslim schools, not all. If I can't lump all Christians in with the nutjob extremist Christians, then you can't lump all Muslims in with the nutjob extremist Muslims.

Ron, if you aren't going to leave the board, why don't you post in some of the other threads? Right now, you seem like a troll, because you have posted only one thread, and the one thread you post is email spam that we all get from time to time. If you were really here to give or receive lap-band support (after all, this is a lap-band support site), you would be posting in the other forums and thread. Eventually, BJean and I will stop indulging you, just like everyone else has.

I don't want you to feel like I am attacking you, because I really am not. That said, this statement doesn't make sense to me. It seems like you are saying that you want the band, but you don't want to do the things necessary to be successful with the band. Doctors have these rules for a reason, because they feel you will do best if you follow them. Could you elaborate on the rules they would require you to follow?

I don't understand why you can't let people live their own lives without your judgement. Didn't Christ also say, "Judge not lest ye be judged"? Seems like you are doing a tad bit of judging.
