  1. Congratulations!! It's so exciting to finally get there!!!
  2. Ok I guess I am doing well. I was banded 1/27/09 and have lost 30 pounds but I swear I don't notice a difference since having a band. I COULD eat about as much as I did before but I just hold back. Somedays are really hard because I feel like I'm starving. I've had one fill so far. I think I'm losing as much as I have because I exercise 4-5 days a week. Has anyone else had this problem? Is this because I need another fill?
  3. I've sold some to people I know, yard sale, Buffalo Exchange and then whatever I have left over I'm going to donate.
  4. Dr. Atkinson was my surgeon but from everything that I've heard, they perform the surgery together....one assisting the other. Dr. Soong did come to see me the day following the surgery. I haven't seen Dr. Atkinson at all except for the actual day of surgery.
  5. Hello there...I just came across your thread. I haven't met any of you but I would be interested in going. I work till 6pm so going to the support meetings are hard for me. How do I find you guys there? Leona
  6. It's so sad but true. Once I had a guy come up to me at the gas station and said I was too fat to be wearing what I had on (ok I had slacks and a long sleeve button up shirt??). What's the reason for this? Just that there are too many people that feed off making others feel bad. Fortunately for myself, I guess I've never had a problem with self-esteem but I do notice that I tend to be "invisible" the heavier I weigh...who knows.
  7. Hi there...I am scheduled for the same day as you. I just got my surgery date today. I know what you mean though, about it being a long process. I went to the seminar in July sometime and just now getting the surgery too. Good thing I wasn't dying or anything ha ha. Well good luck to you.
  8. I had a TT about 4 years ago and the internal stitches were dissolvable..don't remember how many on the outside but I do remember it took a long time when she removed them! I ended up having to get a revision done for "dog ears" on the side so it unfortunately extended my scar a bit on the hips.
  9. Hi there...I don't have Tricare (have HPN) but just finished my entire process before the surgery. My insurance required me to do 3 months supervised diet and then after I finished, they referred me to the psychologist. Just finished with all my pre-op tests so I'm just waiting for the results so it can all be forwarded to Dr. Atkinson. I'm so excited!
