  1. Sounds like a wonderful idea Angela. When are you thinking? I would love to join the bandsters cruise in June, but won't be able to.
  2. J, just go to the "General Lap-Band Discussion" forum on here and find the "July Band Crew" thread. Good luck.
  3. Hi J, welcome. You may want to join up with the July bandsters thread. I'm sure there will be people at the same stage as you. All the best.
  4. Hi Doriana and welcome to LBT. Congratulations on your decision to be banded. I believe others have had their hernias repaired at the same time as their bands were placed. Good luck with it.
  5. Good info, Mookie. I want to add that on the west coast I don't believe that Dr. Leung will do fills for patients other his own. Maybe it's just not for Mexican banded patients, I'm not sure. However, there's also Dr. Woodhead in Ladner who will do fills. His number is here somewhere.
  6. So often when I hear of people ending up somewhere very different from where they started it's because of love. When I ask people from far afield how they ended up here the answer is inevitably "Oh, I followed a girl" or "Oh, a guy". Anyway, a big welcome, Edith. How are you doing with your band?
  7. Welcome, Nanette. I remember well that scared-excited feeling. I am so happy I went ahead with it. I can't help you out with the New Mexico part, but all the best on your upcoming surgery date nevertheless.
  8. Welcome, Sarah, glad you found us. Susan said it all perfectly. Congratulations on your decision.
  9. I'm sorry to hear of you guys getting stuck and pb'ing frequently. I had my second fill last week and I can still eat too much, I think. I'm wondering how Leila is. I know her surgery was planned for last Tuesday.
  10. Way to go Puddinpie, you're an inspiration. It is indeed a whole new life. By the way, .......twitterpated?????????? I'm not quite sure what that means, but it's a great word!
  11. Hi Chantal and welcome to LBT. There so many bandsters willing to share their experiences and so much information here. I hope you find it all as helpful and enjoyable as I do.
  12. Edith, hi. How did you end up in Kansas?
  13. Welcome, Doobie. Well it sounds like you're doing pretty well already. Another bandster's October goal was to weigh only once a day! Good luck with it all.
  14. Hi, Lisa. Welcome, and I'm glad you're starting to post. We'll all get to know you now. So you're on the home stretch. What is your exact surgery date?
  15. Hello TG, and welcome. You've got your first fill coming up soon. I like your pies, by the way.
  16. Hi JavaGal and welcome. I hope you find LBT as informative and supportive as I do. There are lots of long time bandsters willing to share their experiences. Congratulations on your surgery date. It's coming up pretty soon!
  17. Vines, I'm intrigued.......squirrels and two disasters. I'd love to read it when done!
  18. Pati, holy smokes, you must have brothers! Lot's of your talents sound like the stuff brothers like to teach their little sisters. And triplets. You deserve a medal. How old are they now?
  19. My 1989 Civic gets 40 mpg when I'm doing a long road trip. For my normal daily around town driving I get about 35. (It goes like stink, too!)
  20. Honeypie, wow, you have just a few days to go. Congratulations on your decision. I have read somewhere here on LBT that people with low BMI's have a lot of success with the band. My band buddy Jane (we went from Canada to Mexico together to get it done) was low BMI and she's looking fabulous already. Good luck with your surgery.
  21. Hello Juanko and welcome. This is certainly the place to come for that information. My suggestion is to read and explore all the threads and ask specific questions. Congratulations on your banding.
  22. Hi Buckeye, congratulations on your banding. A good place to check out is the October bandsters thread. You'll find a lot of people in similar stages of healing and with similar issues. Like Iluvharleys said, you just don't hear as much from people who are just humming along.
  23. Hi Mark, glad you found us. That was just a couple of days ago that you got banded! Hope you're healing well. Be sure to check out the October bandsters thread, too.
  24. I have syringes and huber needles given to me by my care dr. I would have no problem doing my own unfill in an emergency with unwilling medical personnel. I carry one of the needles in my wallet. I hope I never have to use them.
  25. Hiya, Bandfella, glad you found us. Congratulations on your surgery date. You should look up the October bandsters thread as well.
